• Another Panda associated character named Lee appears in 80011 Red Son's Inferno Truck.
• A poster of Mei, and two classic LEGO characters, Dr. Cyber and Tim Timebuster appear.
• When designer John Ho explained why Mei used a hoverboard in the 80043 Yellow Tusk Elephant set, he also pointed out there was a hoverboard in this set, and that the team had gone back to the past.
• As seen with the box art, the Team Hideout set is based on two locations. With the village representing Chang'an, and the right side representing a base for MK, along with a temple.
• This set can be combined with the set 80036 The City of Lanterns and 80054 Megapolis City.
• This is the eighth set in which MK and Mei are the only members of the Monkie Kids to appear in a set.
