Behind the Scenes[]
- In 80039 The Heavenly Realms, he is simply called "Erlang", while in 80065 Erlang's Celestial Mech he is called his full name "Erlang Shen".
- In Journey to the West (and Investiture of the Gods), Erlang is the Jade Emperor's nephew.
- He was also responsible for capturing Sun Wukong, with the help of his dog and Lao Tzu, after a long and difficult duel.[2] He also later set fire to Flower Fruit Mountain. [3]
- Erlang and his dog also helped in the defeat of the Nine-Headed Demon.[4]
- He is the son of goddess, who was imprisoned under a mountain for her relationship with a mortal. [5]
- He is also known as Yang Jian (楊戩).
Trivia[]
- In mythology Erlang's celestial dog is named "Xiàotiān quǎn" (嘯天), the same as MK's name in the Mandarin dub (小天), though its spelled differently.
- Erlang's minifigure has the same hair piece as Lao Tzu, recolored in black. This wig is also used by Li Jing.
