— Syntax[src] |
Syntax was a scientist that worked for the Spider Queen. During New Year's, the Spider Queen used one of her Spider-Bots on Syntax to test out the effects of her venom, causing Syntax to transform into a Spider Demon.
History[]
Revenge of the Spider Queen[]
Syntax confirmed to Spider Queen that the construction had been completed and the delivery systems were operational, provided the venom was effective this time. Spider Queen reassured Syntax that the venom would work and added the final piece of MK's hair to the cauldron. However, the spider bot that hatched immediately exploded, causing Spider Queen to express her frustration and disappointment. Syntax listened to Spider Queen and Lady Bone Demon's conversation until one of the Spider-Bots functioned. Spider Queen decided to test the bot's capabilities on Syntax, who pleaded with her not to proceed, stating that he was indispensable. Despite his protests, the Spider-Bot attacked him, transforming him into a Spider Demon. He then submitted to Spider Queen, addressing her as his queen.
Syntax and Huntsman arrived at the spider mech following the capture of the Demon Bull King. Syntax began to inform the Spider Queen of Red Son's escape, but was interrupted by Huntsman, who delivered the update. Spider Queen demanded that Red Son be found immediately, also Huntsman acknowledged her command and Syntax closed the door in front of him. In an attempt to apprehend Red Son, Syntax deployed multiple missiles towards the Inferno Jet, which was being piloted by the target. However, the missiles failed to hit their intended mark.
Syntax joined the Spider Demons and Lady Bone Demon to commemorate their triumph. However, their attention was drawn to a Monkey King sign in the crowd. Syntax responded to Spider Queen that the sign was not on the parade itinerary. Huntsman and Spider Queen exchanged a knowing glance, recognizing Syntax's lack of attention to what was going on.
Sleep Bug[]
Syntax offered to infiltrate the Cloud and recover a locked box that was being safeguarded by the Guardians of Knowledge. He knew that the Cloud was linked to all the technology in the world, which gave him an advantage. To distract the Guardians, Syntax created a video game that could cause anyone who played it to fall asleep.
With his plan in motion, Syntax successfully managed to steal the locked box from the Cloud. But to his surprise, he found MK there as well. Syntax greeted MK, who was supposed to be asleep due to Sleep Bug like the other citizens. He explained to MK that he didn't need the entire city to be asleep to make the Guardians of Knowledge dormant. Syntax made a derogatory comment about MK's intelligence, saying while he may appear impressive, he's ultimately unintelligent. MK was confused but asked if they were going to fight. Syntax declined, saying that he preferred outsourcing. As he awoke the Guardians of Knowledge, Syntax explained that he had other pressing matters to attend to. He then bid MK farewell and left.
Dumpling Destruction[]
As Syntax awaited the arrival of Huntsman with the Demon Revealing Mirror, a piece of meat from a Celestial Dumpling fell upon his foot. Without delay, Syntax promptly shook off the meat. Upon Huntsman's arrival with the artifact, which he then presented to the Spider Queen, he gave Syntax a smirk, which incited anger within Syntax.
72 Transformations[]
While Syntax and the other Spider Demons were rebuilding the Spider mech, he tried to tell the Spider Queen that they need more time to rebuild it. Later, when MK returned to the Silken Web Cave to reclaim Pigsy's noodle sign, Syntax and the others attempted to attack him, but was horrified when MK showed his puppy hands to them. While looking for MK, Syntax was killed by the Mayor.

- ―Syntax to the Spider Queen
- “The Cloud is a labyrinth of information, an unrivaled collection of knowledge guarded by fearsome beings who cannot be overcome by brute strength, or the ability to follow footprints in mud. However, it is connected to all the technology in the world. Therefore, I can exploit it.”
- ―Syntax explaining the Cloud
- “Has anyone heard the story of… the Sleep Bug?”
- ―Syntax
- “Well, well, well. The one and only Monkie Kid. You should be asleep.”
- ―Syntax to MK
- “Uh, because my Sleep Bug game, that sent the whole city to sleep.”
- ―Syntax explaining why MK is supposed to be asleep
- “Of course! Now, did I need to put the whole city to sleep just to incapacitate the two guardians here? Perhaps not. But in for a penny in for a pound, either way, you don't have the mental dexterity to debug my game. You're just a motherboard with decent GPU and no central processing unit.”
- ―Syntax taunting MK
- “A graphic processing unit. It means you look good and are well animated but you don't have any brains.”
- ―Syntax after MK questioned what a GPU is
- “No. I'm a big fan of outsourcing.”
- ―Syntax to MK
- “While I'd love to hang out and chat, I have other things to attend to. And you're about to be eviscerated by the ancient Guardians of Knowledge. So I guess we're both pretty busy. Okay, bye!”
