Lady Bone Demon was a demon and an enemy of the Monkey King. Desiring to have a world without pain and imperfection, Lady Bone Demon laid siege on the mortal realm, planning on destroying it and recreating it to be free of its flaws. Because of this, she was imprisoned in an ancient tomb by Tang Sanzang for centuries.
However, she was freed by the Demon Bull Family, who mistook her for a mystical power source that they could utilize. Lady Bone Demon possessed the Demon Bull King and used him to take over Megapolis as the Bone Demon Queen[2] until MK freed the Demon Bull King from Lady Bone Demon's possession.
Later on, she possessed a little girl and teamed up with the Spider Queen to collect the needed materials to create the bone mech. After Lady Bone Demon got all the items, she revealed she was using the Spider Demons as her pawns for her plan to destroy Monkey King. Following this, she betrayed the Spider Queen by dragging her into the Trigram Furnace as the final ingredient, allowing her to create the bone mech. Once the mech was created, MK tried to destroy it using his powers, but doing so drained them and allowed Lady Bone Demon to become more powerful and remain victorious.
Since then, the Lady Bone Demon continued to wreak havoc across the world. She ordered Macaque to go after Monkey King and MK and bring them to her to make up for his broken promise and threatening to destroy him if he failed. She later confronted Monkey King in battle, during which she de-powered the Mayor and took over the Monkey King’s body to end his efforts to destroy her.
With the help of a corrupted Monkey King, Lady Bone Demon obtained the Samadhi Fire by capturing Mei, using her to empower the bone mech for her plan. As a final effort to defeat the Lady Bone Demon, MK and his allies joined forces and defeated the Lady Bone Demon with the Samadhi Fire, destroying her once and for all.
After her defeat, Lady Bone Demon confronted MK one final time, delivering her last speech to calmly discuss their similarities and warn him that his efforts would only end in pain, before fading away.

Past[]
Lady Bone Demon had a recurring vision in which she saw herself destroying the Mortal Realm, a dream whose significance she could not understand at the time.[4] In an effort to end the suffering of the Mortal Realm and its inhabitants because of its imperfections, Lady Bone Demon took on the guise of a human advisor named Ivory Lady and guided a mortal Emperor to become a better person for the world and his people. However, as she observed the ruler and his advisors neglecting the plight of the innocent, Lady Bone Demon became disappointed with the mortal realm's ability to effect change. Ultimately, she made the choice to obliterate the Mortal Realm, replacing it with a brand new one, as she deemed the existing realm's flaws to be irredeemable. The presence of Lady Bone Demon within the Emperor's court had a profound impact, causing the Chief of War to succumb to her influence. In a gesture of her immense power, she bestowed upon him a portion of her own abilities.
Lady Bone Demon turned her back on the Emperor, unleashing chaos upon his kingdom. She justified her actions, claiming to have merely followed his instructions. The Emperor, addressing his Chief of War, commanded him to seize Lady Bone Demon. However, to his surprise, Lady Bone Demon asserted her authority over the Chief of War, indicating that the Chief of War now took orders from her. The Emperor accuses her of plotting to overthrow him and reveals his realization that she had planned this all along. Lady Bone Demon defended herself, stating that her initial intention was to assist in improving the world under the Emperor's rule. However, she has been disillusioned by the Emperor and his advisors' disregard for the welfare of their own people. In her various forms, Lady Bone Demon shared her vast experiences with the rise and fall of civilizations, as well as their enduring struggles. She then disclosed her true idenity and her intention to bring about the destruction of the Mortal Realm, clearing the path for a new beginning. Despite the Emperor's desperate pleas and promises of wealth and fulfillment of her desires, Lady Bone Demon felt disheartened by his failure to heed her words. Consequently, she commanded the execution of the Emperor, deeming him no longer useful in her master plan.[5]
Lady Bone Demon would later revive a demon by the name of Macaque, who had recently lost his life during a battle with Monkey King. Lady Bone Demon gifted Macaque the Skeleton Key, which was intended to be used for her release at a later point in time. However, upon receiving the Skeleton Key, Macaque chose to discard it.[6]
Imprisonment[]
Although her original plan to recreate the world only involved the mortal realm, Lady Bone Demon was met with opposition from immortal beings since she had ill-will toward them. Monkey King was able to defeat her, and while he intended to destroy her, Tang Sanzang insisted that Lady Bone Demon should be locked up until she could learn the error of her ways. However, she never did. Because Macaque abandoned the key, the only thing able to open her tomb and release her, Lady Bone Demon remained imprisoned in the tomb for centuries.[6][5]

After smashing the ground in the Flaming Foundry, the Demon Bull King discovered her tomb and was lured by her whispers.
Skeleton Key[]
After the Bull Clones fully uncovered the Bone Demon Crypt, D.B.K. tried to get it open himself. However, Princess Iron Fan discovered that none of them had the power to open it, and that they would need an object of equal strength. Red Son said they need a key to open it, and he found it with the Mayor at Pigsy's Noodles.
Later, once Red Son obtained the key, the tomb was opened and the Lady Bone Demon took possession of the Demon Bull King and the Bull Clones.
The End is Here![]
Lady Bone Demon influenced the Demon Bull King into believing his family were traitors so he would destroy them.
Once MK entered the Flaming Foundry, Lady Bone Demon used the Demon Bull King to attack MK. When Lady Bone Demon destroyed an MK Clone instead of the real one, MK was able to destroy the canisters in the Demon Bull King's armor, freeing the Demon Bull King and the Bull Clones from Lady Bone Demon's corruption.
Unbeknownst to anyone, the Lady Bone Demon roamed the city until she found a little girl and possessed her.
Revenge of the Spider Queen[]
The Spider Queen was under the impression that her reign had come to an end. Nevertheless, Lady Bone Demon's reply challenged the belief, asserting that the Spider Queen's rule could continue. Lady Bone Demon apologized for her interruption and sought to be of service to the Spider Queen. She believed that the Spider Queen's prolonged absence from her throne has left a void that needed to be filled. Lady Bone Demon further elaborated that if the Spider Queen reclaimed her power, she would possess enough strength to destroy Monkey King. Lady Bone Demon was complimented by the Spider Queen for her polite way of speaking, as she vented her anger toward Monkey King for dethroning her. She doubted Lady Bone Demon's belief that overcoming Monkey King would be easy. Lady Bone Demon proposed the idea of using a potion to enhance the performance of the Spider-Bots, which became successful. The Spider Queen questioned Lady Bone Demon about her intentions. Lady Bone Demon responded by saying that she just wanted to witness the Spider Queen fulfilling her destiny. Accepting Lady Bone Demon's answer, the Spider Queen agreed to proceed.
Megapolis fell under the control of the Spider Queen, who managed to capture not only Wukong, the Demon Bull King, but also numerous other demons. In her quest to capture Red Son, the Spider Queen received a suggestion from Lady Bone Demon to also seize MK. Agreeing with the idea, the Spider Queen emphasized that she couldn't have problematic children running around causing her problems.
Later, Huntsman and Strong Spider reported to her that they were actually all working together, so she tried to pass on more suggestions to Spider Queen. But the Queen was done chasing after them and told her they needed to celebrate instead. When the Monkie Kids showed up at the parade, Lady Bone Demon went back to the spider mech, where she haunted Monkey King with a vision before disappearing. She came back after the Spider Queen's defeat with the Trigram Furnace. She assured her that her destiny had not changed and the real game would begin.
Sleep Bug[]
Once Spider Queen had recovered, she raged over her loss on Megapolis. Lady Bone Demon approached the Spider Queen, informing her that revenge will be hers. With the acquisition of the Trigram Furnace, a crucial step towards fulfilling her ultimate destiny was within reach. Lady Bone Demon explains that the locked box was merely the first of six powerful items required for their grand plan. But it must be retrieved at the Cloud.
Lady Bone Demon and the Spider Demons patiently waited for Syntax to bring back the locked box. As soon as he returned, Lady Bone Demon used the Skeleton Key to unlock the artifact, revealing the bone mech. She then proceeded to explain to the Spider Queen how this powerful creation would assist in fulfilling their destiny. Lady Bone Demon emphasized that once all the necessary artifacts were gathered to complete the bone mech, the Spider Queen's ultimate fate would be solidified.
Dumpling Destruction[]
Huntsman was tasked to retrieve a Demon-revealing mirror, who was about to hand it to the Spider Queen. However, he saw the Lady Bone Demon's demon form reaching for it from behind. Lady Bone Demon took the mirror herself and dropped it into the Trigram Furnace.
Minor Scale[]
Lady Bone Demon was taking care of business with her plans when Spider Queen complained about her ways of taking revenge and told her to lighten up. They heard MK in the tunnel and Spider Queen went for him before Lady Bone Demon could tell her what to do. Unknown to her, she was secretly pleased Spider Queen went away.
Later, she pretended to be a helpless girl to trick MK into handing over the staff into the Trigram Furnace but he soon saw through her with his Gold Vision. At that point, she decided to use the moment to taunt him, digging into his insecurities and using his own words back at him. However, when she was about to defeat him, Spider Queen arrived to try to finish him herself. MK shrunk himself and Lady Bone blasted Spider Queen away with her own powers. Then she continued to taunt him as he ran away, making it clear she would always know where he was.
To Catch a Leaf[]
Huntsman returned with a petal of the crimson jimson weed instead of the whole flower that Lady Bone Demon expected. She released him, knowing that it would be enough anyways. But Huntsman didn't leave so she prompted him and he eventually asked her why he was doing all of this for her. This caused her to scoff at him for only asking that now as she told him it was his role to play in the game. When he asked if it was for the Spider Queen, Lady Bone Demon didn't reply and he went away.
72 Transformations[]
Lady Bone Demon heard Spider Queen prepping to take her down so she sent the Mayor after her Spider Demons. She made herself known when she heard MK and Spider Queen talking about running away from her. Spider Queen gave MK time to escape while she tried to fight off Lady Bone Demon.

After defeating the Spider Queen, Lady Bone Demon killed her by using both her and the remaining ingredients to brew the bone mech within the Trigram Furnace.
Once the mech was formed, Lady Bone Demon wasted no time in attacking MK during his training. Despite MK's efforts in destroying the mech, he soon discovered that every time he exerted his powers on it, he loses them, allowing Lady Bone Demon to grow stronger and fortify the bone mech even further. Determined to retaliate, MK created the Monkey Mech as a last resort, yet Lady Bone Demon transformed into her true form and absorbed the reaminder of MK's powers, leaving him incapable of even lifting the Golden Staff. Just as Lady Bone Demon was about to kill MK, Monkey King arrived, ultimately saving MK from certain demise. Although Lady Bone Demon failed to achieve the decisive victory, she became closer to achieving her goal.
The Winning Side (flashback)[]
After Monkey King and MK's escape, the Lady Bone Demon had the Mayor bring Macaque to her. Lady Bone Demon confronted Macaque, questioning his betrayal and asking what made him to forsake his oath. She reminds him of her power and the favor she granted him by resurrecting him, expecting him to aid her in achieving equilibrium. Lady Bone Demon offered Macaque one last chance at redemption, commanding him to bring her Monkey King and MK. To ensure his compliance, she gives him a silver compass that will track their whereabouts no matter where they flee.
Taken aback by the sudden appearance of the chains that pulled him down, Macaque questioned Lady Bone Demon about the turn of events. She explained that the chains were a reminder of his untrustworthiness and inability to follow his destiny. Lady Bone Demon warned Macaque that if he betrayed her again or failed in any way, she would erase his very existence from memory.
Benched[]
Macaque failed to capture them both so she proceeded to kill him but he shouted that they had the Samadhi Fire. Delighted with this information, she granted him with her powers to fetch the fire and told him to make haste or it would reduce him to nothing.
This Imperfect World[]
While waiting for the fire, she monologued about how destiny had gifted it to her so she could finally achieve her goal. Monkey King arrived to face her off to which she confidently mocked him for not bringing any backup, or even a weapon. He ignored her remark and launched into battle with her.
The Monkey King proved that he could hold out on his own and eventually defeated her and the Mayor. She tried to convince him not to kill her by bringing up her host, as doing so would kill an innocent child as well. But Monkey King said that it was the only option for him, seeing that she still hadn't ever reconsidered her errors and told her that she should've stayed entombed. Not wanting him to ruin everything like last time, Lady Bone Demon saved herself by possessing Monkey King.
The Corrupted King[]
The outcome left Lady Bone Demon feeling a sense of satisfaction, as she believed it to be a fortunate moment of spontaneity. In her eyes, fate had bestowed upon her the perfect champion in the form of Monkey King. MK, who had been observing the entire ordeal alongside Ne Zha, attempted to argue that Monkey King was winning. However, Lady Bone Demon swiftly dismissed his claims and reminded him of the futility of his efforts to thwart her plans. She confidently asserted that the Samadhi Fire would soon be hers, and with its immense power, she would be able to reshape the entire world. With unwavering authority, she commanded Monkey King to proceed with his mission. Momentarily, Ne Zha found himself trapped within a crystal by Monkey King, while MK inadvertently managed to escape through a shadow portal.
In pursuit of MK, Lady Bone Demon led Monkey King to a dense forest. MK quickly alerted Mei and Red Son about the impending threat. It wasn't long before Monkey King and Lady Bone Demon made their presence felt, with the latter remaining concealed. Lady Bone Demon confronted Red Son, acknowledging their previous encounter and was thankful for his role in freeing her from her tomb. She admits that the Demon Bull King was the perfect vessel for her power, but now she saw Monkey King as a different challenge altogether. Lady Bone Demon also acknowledges the significance of the Samadhi Fire, crediting Red Son for its creation and emphasizing that without him, she would not have been able to fulfill her destiny. However, she quickly dismisses his importance, as Monkey King delivered a powerful punch to Red Son, sending him crashing against the temple wall. Lady Bone Demon asserts that there is no escape for them. She confidently declares that there is nowhere they could hide where she cannot find them. She questions the need to prolong their confrontation, stating that she has already waited long enough. Lady Bone Demon demands that Monkey King bring Mei to her immediately. MK pleaded with Monkey King to come back to his senses. However, Lady Bone Demon remained unfazed by his efforts, dismissing them with a simple statement. The Monkey King threw MK behind him. Lady Bone Demon acknowledges the strength of the Samadhi Fire, but Mei warns Monkey King to stay back, threatening to unleash the fiery power upon her. However, Lady Bone Demon shows no concern for Monkey King's well-being, emphasizing that he was merely a vessel to her. She questioned Mei's loyalty, wondering if she would truly sacrifice Monkey King to save herself. Mei defends Monkey King's choices, stating that he understood the risks and would have done the same if necessary. Mei unleashed a powerful blast of fire towards Monkey King, but he walks through it unharmed. Lady Bone Demon scoffed at the notion of the Monkie Kids being heroes, claiming that they are merely agents of chaos. She reveals her desire to eradicate such people in her new world, seeking perfection. Mei was crystallized by Monkey King. In an instant, they both disappear.
Time to Be Warriors[]
Lady Bone Demon patiently waited for Mei to give in while the other Monkie Kids plotted how to defeat her. When MK arrived for the staff, she used Monkey King to try to punch him as she finished his catchphrase. MK dodged it and she shared a few words with him and Macaque before they prepared to fight.
Destiny Fulfilled[]

Lady Bone Demon continued to tell MK that destiny could not be changed, emphasizing that he should accept defeat since Monkey King couldn't even beat her. However, MK challenged her notion, arguing that if destiny truly couldn't be altered, then there was no reason for her to assert control over Monkey King. As Lady Bone Demon's control on Monkey King was broken and the Golden Staff was reclaimed, she was taken aback. With Monkey King no longer under her corruption, Lady Bone Demon regained her full strength. She released the little girl that she possessed as the host's body was too weak for the power she was using.
Lady Bone Demon activated the mech and taunted MK, blaming him for the impending doom of the world due to his discovery of the Golden Staff. In an attempt to unleash destruction upon the Mortal Realm to end its flaws, she unleashed the Samadhi Fire by striking it into the ground. However, MK countered her attack by summoning the Monkey Mech, successfully blocking the two swords.
Scorning the heroes for their desire to preserve the world despite its flaws, Lady Bone Demon dismissed their ideals as naive. Unfazed by her mockery, the Monkie Kids stood firm, asserting that even the bad aspects of the world shouldn't be judged. Lady Bone Demon, considering MK's words childish, stubbornly pressed forward with the bone mech. Breaking free from her crystal within the mech, Mei managed to seize control of the Samadhi Fire and leave the bone mech powerless, much to Lady Bone Demon's astonishment. As the Monkie Kids gained the upper hand, Lady Bone Demon watched in disbelief as they utilized the golden Monkey Mech to amplify the Golden Staff's power.
Desperate to block their attack, Lady Bone Demon attempted to resist, but her efforts were futile against the strength of the heroes when they joined together, destroying her and the mech. In her final moments, Lady Bone Demon engaged in a conversation with MK, acknowledging their shared determination to fight for their beliefs. With a solemn warning, she cautioned MK about the pain that awaits for him as he persists on his path.
Legacy[]
After Lady Bone Demon was defeated, MK found himself struggling to find his place in the world. Lady Bone Demon's words lingered in his mind and began to affect him. When MK stumbled upon the protective curse, which took the form of Ink MK, he couldn't help but compare its manipulation to Lady Bone Demon's. As MK made this comparison, the curse used Lady Bone Demon's words against him to lower his guard. And soon, taken on Lady Bone Demon’s appearance, representing one of MK’s greatest shames.

Lady Bone Demon was a cunning perfectionist who would stop at nothing and spare no one from her plans to wipe out and reforge the known universe.
Long ago, she tried to help mortals perfect the world before she began to see humanity's corruption and thus attempted to destroy the mortal realm. Even when given imprisoned by the Great Monk, so she could see the error of her ways, she never reconsidered her ideology. When she was freed again, she decided to obliterate all the other realms as well so no powerful beings could stand in her way.[5]
She was quite manipulative and took advantage of others for her own intentions, as she was able to trick the Demon Bull King into thinking that his family were traitors. Preying on his weaknesses and fears, she also made MK think that the Monkey King doubted making him his successor, causing him to doubt himself. She showed herself to be cunning when she allied herself with the Spider Demons to create the bone mech, only to betray them to fulfill her goal. She is quick and cruel when dealing with Macaque, not even taking the time to manipulate him.
With the exception of emotional outbursts when provoked, she showed herself to be a calm and collected individual, demonstrated when carrying out her plans regarding the spider demons as well as in her last moments when she spoke with MK about their shared similarities.

The Lady Bone Demon was a demon characterized by her white skeletal form, red eyes, and prominent cheekbones. Her tresses were a snowy hue, with a portion of it tied into a bun while the remainder is straight and loose. Her lips were magenta, and her eyes were accented with a shade of medium blue eyeshadow.

- Bone Constructs - Lady Bone Demon possessed the ability to generate bone and manipulate it into various forms, primarily for the purpose of encapsulating individuals or objects. Furthermore, she is capable of producing authentic skeletons by expelling spiritual energy through her mouth.[7]
- Crystallokinesis - Lady Bone Demon possesses the ability to generate blue crystals, akin to her bone structures. The crystals were also utilized by those she possessed, including Macaque and Monkey King.
- Corruption - Lady Bone Demon possessed the ability to exert mental influence over other living beings, and in some cases, can even assume full control over them.
- Pain Inducement - Lady Bone Demon had the ability to cause severe headaches in those who fall victim to her.

Prior to her incarceration, Lady Bone Demon resurrected Macaque and entrusted him with the Skeleton Key, a clear indication of her prescience regarding her eventual imprisonment, which she foresaw as a consequence of her unyielding pursuit of perfection for the world.

Behind the scenes[]
- In the sets, Lady Bone Demon is known as the "White Bone Demon" instead.
- Her Journey to the West character is known as the "White Bone Spirit" (白骨精 Báigǔjīng). Though, her true form is revealed to be named "White Bone Lady " (Baigu furen 白骨夫人), which is used in the Mandarin dub.[8]
- In the novel, Lady Bone Demon was a spiritual demon who wanted to eat Tang Sanzang, and disguised herself as a young girl, an old woman, and an old man to trick Tang Sanzang and his disciples. This is later referenced in "Time to Be Warriors", when she transforms into these forms while speaking to the Emperor.[9]
- In the show's Japanese dub, Lady Bone Demon's voice is deeper when she speaks as her true form. This may be because of her age and her identity as a demon.
Trivia[]
- Story editor David Breen has said on Twitter that while Lady Bone Demon doesn't tell lies, she does see the world in absolutes.[10]
- Lady Bone Demon is often associated with Oracle bone script, as it appears in her sigil and various writings about her. [11]
- The association is likely because of her age, as Oracle bone script is the oldest known form of Chinese writing. It also references the "bone" in her name.
- When asked if Lady Bone Demon would have an army of her own like the Demon Bull King or Spider Queen, Jeremy Adams implied that her army would be something surprising.[12]
- While originally thought to be referring to the Bone Spirits, Season 3 later clarified that Lady Bone Demon's army was the spirits of the Spider Demons, while Macaque and Monkey King were her soldiers.
- Her theme color in the color script is called "Bone Demon Teal".[13]
- There have been misconceptions about Lady Bone Demon serving the Celestial Realm, but there are several implications of this being false:
- The Mayor mentioned that Lady Bone Demon's plan was limited to the Mortal Realm prior to her confinement, corroborating her account in the flashback sequence in "Time to Be Warriors".
- Lady Bone Demon did not harbor any animosity towards the Celestial Realm. Her objective to remake it as well was to prevent immortal entities from obstructing her plans for the Mortal Realm, which would enable her to rectify her error, as she had not anticipated the intervention of celestial beings during her first attempt.
- The fact that Lady Bone Demon ordered the Mayor to execute the mortal Emperor after he was usurped is in contradiction to how the Jade Emperor title works, as the death of the Jade Emperor would confer the title upon the individual responsible, as evidenced by Azure Lion's takeover of the Celestial Realm and killing the Jade Emperor.
- In 80054 Megapolis City, she owns a chiropractic clinic.
