“The world has fallen into chaos, and at every step of its descent... You have been there.” |
— The First King[src] |
The First King is the leader of the Court of the Underworld.
History[]
Past[]
Similar to the rest of the members of the Court of the Underworld, the First King undertook the mantle of one of the ten monarchs, specifically emerging as the head king. The First King and his peers created the Scroll of Memory, a powerful artifact designed to ensure eternal retribution for those who engaged in wrongful acts. In order to confine the prisoners, the Court of the Underworld cast a protective curse on the scroll to hinder any attempts of escape by the captives and trap anyone trying to release them.
Better Than We Found It[]
The Scroll of Memory was reported stolen to the First King. Fortunately, Ne Zha was able to retrieve the scroll and restore it to its rightful place, preventing it from being misused. The First King called for a meeting with the Court of the Underworld to address the situation. He stressed the importance of conducting an investigation into the theft and deliberated on the necessary steps to be taken following the death of the Jade Emperor, which had resulted in the damaging of the Pillar of Heaven, causing chaos to loom over the world. The First King warned the court about the severe consequences that would befall them if any of them were found to be involved. While emphasizing the potential downfall of the entire universe, the First King also acknowledged that the punishment for the traitor would be insignificant compared to the catastrophic consequences that would have ensued had the traitor succeeded.
Collar the King[]
The Court of the Underworld called upon MK, Monkey King, and Macaque to appear before them. They were accused of being involved in the chaos that had befallen the universe. MK questioned the charges brought against them. The First King, filled with anger, blamed them for the downfall of the Jade Emperor and the damage to the Pillar of Heaven, holding them accountable for the world's destruction. In response, MK suggested that they should escape, with Monkey King assuming leadership. However, the First King, expecting deception from Monkey King, revealed that the court had summoned Li Jing, the new leader of the Celestial Realm, to thwart Monkey King.
