  • The Flaming Mountains' appearance in Journey to the West are quite different, than its depiction in Monkie Kid. It was the home of Princess Iron Fan, who used her magic fan to temporarily put out the flames so that the local villagers would revere her as a goddess. [1]
    • The mountains are also a real location, high summer temperatures can make the mountains one of the hottest spots in China. [2]
