“Dear MK. As you know, I'm super busy on vacation. I've got a special delivery, but I won't be able to get to it for a while. You must not open it no matter what. It's bad news.” |

Behind the scenes[]
- They're an interpretation of the Caohuan Dan (草还 丹) or ginseng fruit babies, which appear in Journey to the West.[1] The fruit only became ripe after 9,000 years and only 30 would bloom at a time. Eating the ginseng could grant 47,000 years of immortality.[2]
- In the novel Monkey King, Sha Wujing, and Zhu Bajie ate four of the fruits. Monkey King also knocked down the ginseng fruit tree, temporarily killing it. The tree was later revived by Guanyin with a vase.[3]
Trivia[]
- The Fruit Babies theme music references the gremlins.
