Long ago, Nüwa created the Pillar of Heaven and the Great Cycle to prevent the chaos from the Chaos Beyond from wreaking havoc on the realms of the known universe. Through this intricate design, the universe not only maintained harmony but also fostered the regeneration of life, allowing for the perpetual renewal of existence in the face of potential annihilation.The Court of the Underworld was established to protect the Great Cycle. However, a prophecy warned that the Pillar of Heaven would eventually be destroyed at the conclusion of the current Great Cycle. It was said that, just as Nüwa had restored the Pillar of Heaven in the past, it would be rebuilt again, but this time by a Mystic Monkey that Nüwa would create. Meanwhile, the Nine-Headed Demon, feeling stifled by the order of the universe, devised a plan to bring about the prophecy sooner than expected, which would also lead to the premature end of the Great Cycle. To set his plan in motion, the Nine-Headed Demon broke MK's magic stone to accelerate MK's arrival. Later, he would release Azure Lion, guiding him to overthrow the Jade Emperor and ultimately causing damage to the Pillar of Heaven.
