LEGOLAND Shanghai Resort is a theme park and hotel located in Fenjing Town in the Jinshan District of Shanghai, China. It was first announced during the China International (CIIE) in November 2019 when the contracts were signed between Merlin Entertainments, Shanghai Jinshan District Government, CMC Inc. and KIRKBI to build the theme park.[1] Construction started in 2021, with the park expected to open in 2024.[2] At CIIE 2023, a model of the park was displayed.[3] The following year, a debut was made as the lead float for the Shanghai Tourism Festival 2024 followed by the announcement at CIIE 2024 that the official opening was set for Summer 2025.[4][5]
The resort covers an approximate 31.8 hectares and has eight themed lands, with one of them being Monkie Kid. As part of the Membership Program sneak peak unveiling, this theme was the last to be revealed on March 20, 2025. The story-line behind the area features the Monkie Kids trying to stop the Demon Bull Family from stealing six ancient powers in their quest to destroy the Golden Staff.[6][7]

LEGO Monkie Kid Flower Fruit Mountain Adventure[]

LEGO Monkie Kid Flower Fruit Mountain Adventure is a water ride and the highlight of the themed area. The name was first dropped at CIIE 2024 by the Merlin Entertainments CEO himself.[10][5] Some of the notable features include the giant model of MK standing in front of the mountain and the battle scenes where villains come alive.[7]
This ride did not open with the rest of LEGOLAND Shanghai, and is currently delayed.
MK's Cloud Surfer[]

A Smoke Monster will chase the players as they ride the cloud surfer on a rolling track. The cloud surfer is based off of the Cloud Bike.
Mei's Dragon Orb[]

Megapolis and Mini Megapolis[]

Megapolis and Mini Megapolis are playgrounds for big and little kids. One side is modeled after the 80035 Monkie Kid's Galactic Explorer.
Realm of Rebuilding[]

The Realm of Rebuilding is a building area where people can make their own creations with the LEGO bricks. It is based off a destroyed museum and the concept of the 40474 Build your own Monkey King. People need to help rebuild the area with their own imaginations.

Monkie Kid Live Theater[]

The Monkie Kid Live Theater, otherwise known as Live Theatre: LEGO Monkie Kid Live Battle for Flower Fruit Mountain, is a live show located in the Bricktopia! land. The play combines puppets and 3D mapped animations to tell the story.
The show is 20 minutes long. It focus' on the Demon Bull Family stealing the Golden Staff from MK, which causes Flower Fruit Mountain to crumble.
Notably, Monkey King never appears as a puppet, only as a 3D model and transformed into a crane.

- The parks construction was heavily documented.
- The lake features statues of Sandy, Mei, and Monkey King in their beach outfits from "The Emperor's Wrath"; this is odd as those designs are original to the series and have not appeared as actual minifigures.
- The Monkey King animatronic in front of Flower Fruit Mountain Adventure is the largest moving model in a LEGOLAND resort.
