This is a list of cut lines and scenes in Monkie Kid.
Monkie Kid: A Hero is Born[]
- A script seen in "A LEGO Journey to the East", dated 5/28/19, reads:
Mr. Tang: Well, what do we do now?
Pigsy: What do you mean, what do we do? I've got a bunch of orders pilling up, and I've got my own Monkey King to deliver them.
MK: No... not Monkey King... Monkey Kid!
- The opening narration originally began with:
Tang: Once upon a time, atop Flower Fruit Mountain, a rock appeared. But this was no normal rock. This rock contained... the Monkey King!
MK: I've heard this part.
Coming Home[]
Mei: All right! First things first. Monkey King Marathon. I'm thinking we start with the episode where the dragon eats the horse, I love that one. Oh you know what this sleepover is going to be great!
Calabash[]
- Monkey King's calabash counterpart originally continued speaking after MK had left, saying:[2]
Monkey King: Point is you're the Monkie Kid, everyone loves you, sooo-
Revenge of the Spider Queen[]
- Before Red Son escaped from the Spider-Bots on the Inferno Jet, he said:[3]
Red Son: Sorry Father. You may be finished, but I'm not.
Shadow Play[]
- While speaking to the puppeteer, MK remarked:[4]
MK: What if he’s... bailing out.
- In these storyboards, Macaque, while transformed into Monkey King, is voiced by Billy Kametz, while in the final episode, his lines are read by Sean Schemmel.
On the Run[]
- After Macaque made his presence known, him and MK's confrontation originally went:[5]
MK: What do you want?!
Macaque: Oh it’s not what I want, friendo.
MK: Huh? What does that- what- why are you being so vague while we’re flying?!
Benched[]
- The entire ending scene is altered. It begins with Macaque looking at MK's drawing and then cuts to civilians looking at the flickering lights. When Lady Bone Demon appears, she says:[7]
Lady Bone Demon: It seems we are bound to repeat history. I warned you. There is only one path of destiny. Refuse the path and there will be... pain. I gave you a task, you have delayed me long enough. You know the price. Make haste or I will leave nothing left of you. Farewell, my champion.
- These storyboards make it appear like the Lady Bone Demon has killed Macaque, which may be a reason the scene was so heavily altered in the final episode. [8]
The King, the Prince, and the Shadow[]
- Ne Zha and Monkey King's fight was originally a bit longer[9]. The pair were also going to run from Macaque when he first attacked them.[10]
Time to Be Warriors[]
- While taunting an imprisoned Mei, Lady Bone Demon showed her flashes of MK being destroyed and said:[11]
Lady Bone Demon: You will give me the Samadhi Fire before the end. I have seen it.
Familiar Tales[]
- MK and the Gold and Silver Demons conversation is slightly different.[12]
Yin: Yeah! A p-post battle pow-wow, slap on the wrist, and off ya go, alright?
MK: The time for pow-wows... is over!
Pig-Napped![]
- After separating from MK and Mei, Tang smelled something, saying:[13]
Tang: I think these swamp vapors are making me lightheaded... Bamboo shoots, peppercorn, and fresh mian, floating in a szechwan pepper broth! That couldn't be anything except Pigsy's family recipe zha jiang noodle soup! (He retches) That's not Pigsy's noodles.
- When Pigsy awakens and harness' his powers, Mei reacts with "It's beautiful.", this line is said by Tang in the finished episode.[14]
Show Me the Monster[]
- Sha Wujing originally flexed and played up for the skeleton audience before attacking Pigsy.[15]
Roast of the Monkie Kids[]
Peng: I remember your mother gave me those same hateful eyes...
- When Master Subodhi criticizes Tang, he originally said:[17]
Master Subodhi: You have latent abilities, this is undeniable and you're intelligent... enough.
The Jade Emperor[]
- Ne Zha's skirmish with the Brotherhood was originally longer.[18] He also would have said a taunt.[19]
Ne Zha: Is that all you got?
Better Than We Found It[]
- Monkey King arriving on his cloud, and shrugging on his shirt was cut from the beginning of the beach scene.[20]
