Past

At Flower Fruit Mountain, Nüwa used Monkey King's magic stone to bring about the creation of MK. The plan was for MK to emerge from the stone at the conclusion of the recent Great Cycle, a period slated to occur an eon following the present era. Unfortunately, the Nine-Headed Demon intervened and broke the stone, causing MK to be born ahead of schedule.[1] Consequently, MK possessed distinct genes as a Mystic Monkey, distinguishing him from the Monkey King. Eventually, MK ended up at Pigsy's Noodles, where he was adopted by Pigsy since then. As time went on, MK matured and was hired as a noodle delivery boy and cleaner for Pigsy.[2]

Monkie Kid: A Hero is Born

Upon hearing the tale of the Demon Bull King's imprisonment, MK couldn't help but express his deep admiration for Monkey King. MK boasted about his extensive knowledge of the Great Sage, and revealed that he had written and illustrated a book about Monkey King's. He eagerly shared some of the details he knew about Wukong's life, including his birth from a stone and living in the Shuilian Cave with his monkey companions. Tang reminded MK about the offer of receiving a free bowl of noodles for sharing a story. MK initially seemed confused but quickly remembered and acknowledged the incentive. However, their conversation was abruptly interrupted by Pigsy, who reminded MK of his responsibilities to deliver the orders. When MK mentioned that he was about to take a break, Pigsy immediately rejected the notion of breaks. Pigsy placed great emphasis on the necessity of having dedicated workers in his noodle business, especially when expanding into enemy territory. Despite MK's effort to correct Pigsy by bringing up Wild Pig Noodles, Pigsy remained unwavering in his statement and proceeded to push MK out of the noodle shop, enabling MK to commence his noodle delivery duties.

MK & Monkey King Pilot

MK maneuvered the tuk-tuk through Megapolis, making his way towards a construction site. Upon reaching his destination, he caught sight of Princess Iron Fan and Red Son, who were surrounded by an army of Bull Clones. Concealing himself behind a cluster of rocks, MK carefully observed their every move. Princess Iron Fan expressed their possession of the necessary tools to lift the Golden Staff. Intrigued by the mention, MK decided to climb up a set of pipes to gain a better vantage point, where he encountered a bird. As MK and the bird watched in astonishment, Red Son proceeded to free the Demon Bull King by lifting the Golden Staff off of Demon Hill. Startled by the bird's behavior, MK attempted to shoo it away, but instead, it began pecking at his hand, causing him to fall directly onto Red Son. MK found himself face to face with the Demon Bull Family and the Bull Clones. He asked if they ordered noodles, trying to lighten the mood. However, Red Son was not amused and accused MK of ruining his moment. The Demon Bull King contemplated crushing MK, but Red Son convinced him to let him show off his power instead. MK saw this as a chance to escape, but Red Son taunted him. Red Son proceeded to punch MK with the Power Glove, but MK blocked it with the Golden Staff. MK was just as surprised as everyone else and doesn't know how he's doing all of this. He activated the staff again, sending Red Son and the Bull Clones away in an explosive manner. Princess Iron Fan demanded MK to hand the staff over, but MK refused. The staff then planted itself into the ground and launched MK into the air.

After escaping with the staff, MK is chased by Red Son through the city streets and is narrowly saved by Mei. The two reunite and MK decides to bring the staff back to the noodle shop. Tang, as well as Pigsy and Mei don't believe that the staff is anything more than a stick until MK accidentally activates it and breaks a table, sending Tang into disbelief. After finding out that the Demon Bull King is gaining power, the group decides to head to Flower Fruit Mountain to return the staff to the Monkey King. The team realizes the journey will be dangerous, prompting Pigsy to bring MK and the rest of the group to one of his old friends, Sandy. Sandy brings them to the mountain by barge but they are stopped along the way by Princess Iron Fan, who defeats MK and sends him flying into fiery rocks.

After waking up, MK realizes that he has ended up in Flower Fruit Mountain, and discovers an ancient temple containing the origins of the Monkey King. Upon catching sight of Monkey King, MK apologized for not being able to return the Golden Staff to him. However, to his surprise, Monkey King found the situation rather amusing and confessed that he had been secretly observing MK all along. This revelation left MK both astonished and perplexed, as he recalled the events involving him and an animal, only to realize that it was Monkey King in disguise. Impressed by MK's actions, Monkey King commended him, stating that he was perfect. Curious, MK asked about what he was perfect for, prompting Monkey King to explain that MK was the ideal candidate to be his successor. In response, MK was doubtful about Monkey King's authenticity, questioning his sanity after being isolated for so long. However, Monkey King praised MK for his bravery in battling demons and successfully reaching him. Despite this, MK remained uncertain and mentioned the Demon Bull King, but Monkey King dismissed the Demon Bull King as a mere trial. Monkey King encouraged MK to believe in himself, emphasizing that even the smallest amount can make a significant difference. With newfound determination, Monkey King instructed MK to reclaim the stolen Golden Staff, as it rightfully belonged to him. Inspired by Monkey King's words, MK wholeheartedly agreed to the task.

All right

MK returns to the city by using the Cloud Jet. He manages to get back to the city, but ends up crashing the jet into Red Son, who was about to do battle with his team. After reuniting with the others, MK says that it's up to them to save the city from the Demon Bull Family and Bull Clones. MK uses the speed bike against the Demon Bull King to go inside the Furnace and retrieve the Golden Staff. MK manages to retrieve the staff and briefly overpower the Demon Bull King, but is unable to imprison him again. Remembering what the Monkey King said, MK creates the Monkey Mech and defeats the Demon Bull King with it, earning the title Monkie Kid. After defeating the Demon Bull Family and Bull Clones, MK and the others decide to celebrate by going out for noodles.

Season 1

Bad Weather

While watching the news, MK, Mei, and Tang were captivated by the battle against the Demon Bull King. Inspired by the showdown, MK couldn't resist mimicking the intense moves, but unfortunately, his enthusiasm led to inadvertently causing a leak on Sandy's boat, much to his dismay. Pigsy scolded the group for being lazy. However, MK found solace in Tang's agreement that a little time off wouldn't hurt anyone. Just as they were settling into their discussion, a crate came crashing down on MK, causing a momentary panic. To everyone's relief, MK emerged from the incident unscathed, proudly boasting about his invincibility. Pigsy, concerned about MK's reckless behavior, reminded him that possessing Monkey King's powers didn't give him the license to be careless. However, before Pigsy could continue, Mei intervened, diverting their attention to a more exciting prospect. She invited MK and the rest of the group inside Sandy's boat to reveal their headquarters, the Sea-Crate HQ. Intrigued, he turned to Mei and asked about when she had managed to create such a headquarters.

Upon witnessing the news once more, MK and the rest of the group become aware that Red Son has seized control of the Weather Station, with the intention of aiding the Demon Bull King in his quest for world domination. While MK and Mei are filled with excitement at this revelation, Pigsy holds a different perspective, asserting that it is not a moment to rejoice. Disregarding Pigsy's cautionary advice about recklessly plunging into danger, MK confidently reassures him of his invincibility and determination to confront Red Son. With an air of arrogance, MK dismisses Pigsy's concerns and brandishes the Golden Staff, using it as a means to make his way towards the Weather Station, all the while boasting about his invulnerability.

In the Weather Station, MK and the Monkie Kids faced off against Red Son, who wasted no time in hurling insults at MK, referring to him as garbage. However, MK confidently retorted that although Red Son may find it amusing at the moment, he would soon regret it as MK possessed an invincibility that would make Red Son nothing more than toast. Despite his efforts, MK was still unable to fully control his powers, which resulted in him struggling to effectively use the Golden Staff during combat. He accidentally knocked out Mei and Sandy. However, undeterred by Red Son's insults, MK confidently proclaimed that Red Son would be the next one to taste defeat. With a swift motion, MK launched his staff towards Red Son, only to be taken aback when it missed its intended target and instead struck him from behind. This caused MK to be forcefully expelled from the Weather Station, resulting in a crash landing onto the street below.

Monkey King's sudden appearance startled MK, who was relieved to see his mentor. MK suggested flying up to confront Red Son, but Monkey King reminded him that he was retired and it was MK's responsibility to handle the villains. Monkey King acknowledged MK's invincibility, but MK pointed out that he lacked control over his powers, causing chaos whenever he tried to use them. Monkey King revealed that the problem lies with MK himself. Monkey King explained that self-confidence was crucial for MK to fully harness his powers. MK insisted that he possessed self-confidence, but Monkey King dismissed it as mere loudness. Monkey King emphasized that self-confidence could only be achieved through practice, recounting his own centuries of training and battles against demons. MK expressed his concern for his friends and Megapolis, as they rely on him. Reluctantly, Wukong offered a solution to limit MK's powers, allowing him to learn control. However, this would mean sacrificing his invincibility. Despite his sigh of resignation, MK agreed to proceed. Monkey King effectively restricted MK's powers. Monkey King checked in on MK, asking how he felt after the limitation. MK responded positively.

MK returned to the Weather Station thanks to Wukong. Determined to settle the score, he declared that he wouldn't let Red Son win. Red Son taunted MK by asking if he had returned to beat himself up further. MK confidently stated that he had gained control over his powers, but admitted that he was no longer invincible and could potentially be killed. However, MK quickly reassured everyone that he had everything under control. Red Son charged at MK with a horde of Bull Clones, causing MK to panic and scream that he didn't have the situation under control. MK dodged the Bull Clones as they crashed down. Moments later, MK engaged in a fight with Red Son. Eventually, Red Son punch MK into the Weather Station’s controls. As MK looked up, he saw the Bull Clones charging towards him. Feeling overwhelmed, he inadvertently activated his Gold Vision. Suddenly, an idea struck him as he noticed the lightning in the sky. Red Son and the Bull Clones piled on top of MK. However, MK used the staff and made it grew taller, propelling all the Bull Clones Red Son high into the sky. MK spotted the lightning button and pushed it. Lightning struck down, electrocuting the Bull Clones and Red Son. MK took cover behind the console until the strike subsided. Red Son, defeated, crashed to the ground and insulted MK before disappearing in a fire tornado. MK, victorious, focused on restoring the Weather Station to its normal state. He diligently switched everything back to normal on the console, bringing back the sunny weather. Satisfied with his work, he declared that everything was back to normal.

Thanks to Monkey King, MK was able to return to the Weather Station. Determined to settle the score, he made it clear that he wouldn't allow Red Son to emerge victorious. Red Son, however, taunted MK by questioning if he had returned just to subject himself to further beatings. Undeterred, MK confidently asserted that he had gained control over his powers, although he acknowledged that he was no longer invincible and could potentially be killed. Despite this admission, MK quickly reassured everyone that he had the situation completely under control. Red Son charged at MK with a swarm of Bull Clones, causing MK to panic and regret what he just said. MK dodged the incoming Bull Clones as they crashed down around him. Moments later, MK engaged in a fierce battle with Red Son. Red Son delivered a powerful punch, sending MK crashing into the controls of the Weather Station. MK saw the Bull Clones charging towards him, feeling overwhelmed by their sheer numbers. He inadvertently activated his Gold Vision. Suddenly, an idea struck him as he noticed the lightning illuminating the sky. With Red Son and the Bull Clones piling on top of him, MK utilized the Golden Staff, causing it to grow taller and propelling all the Bull Clones and Red Son high into the sky. With the Bull Clones and Red Son incapacitated, MK pushed the button that controlled the lightning, summoning a powerful bolt to electrocute Red Son the Bull Clones. MK emerged victorious as Red Son crashed to the ground. In a final act of defiance, Red Son insulted MK before disappearing in a fiery tornado. With Red Son defeated, MK restored the weather. Mei's disappointment was acknowledged by MK in a humble manner, as he explained that his powers were limited until he could enhance his control over them. Pigsy inquired about his plan to achieve this, to which MK responded confidently that he would engage in practice. However, MK accidentally struck himself on the head with his staff.

Duplicatnation

MK & Tang

MK spent several days assisting Pigsy in the delivery of noodles, as well as engaging in the task of helping Sandy paint his boat. Additionally, MK spent considerable time partying with Mei during numerous nights. However, the cumulative effect of the activities left MK feeling tired. One day at Pigsy's Noodles, Tang noticed MK's fatigue. Despite MK's denial, he eventually collapsed into his bowl of noodles. Tang expressed concern and advised MK that he was overworking himself by working all day and partying all night. MK confessed that he didn't want to disappoint his friends and wanted to help at Pigsy's Noodles, paint Sandy's boat, and spend time with Mei. However, the weight of these responsibilities proved too much for him to handle alone. Tang expressed his disappointment to MK, stating that it would be great if he could create duplicates of himself like Monkey King. To their amazement, an MK Clone appeared after MK blew on a piece of his hair. Excitedly, MK realized that it would solve all his problems, as he could now be in multiple places at once. Grateful, MK thanked Mr. Tang for his help.

Upon returning to Pigsy's Noodles, MK was surprised to find Pigsy with the Delivery Clone. Pigsy suggested that the idea to be some sort of Mystic Monkey business. MK confirmed Pigsy's assumption, prompting Tang to ask if MK would do something about the MK Clones. MK attempted to use the Golden Staff to eliminate the Delivery Clone, but his efforts were unsuccessful. MK turned to Tang, who was unsure of how Monkey King used to handle his clones and suggested employing a kung fu move. MK tried a kung fu move on the Delivery Clone, causing it to explode. Just then, Pigsy's phone rang, displaying an incoming call from Sandy, reminding MK of the Artist Clone.

MK made his way toward the harbor, where he encountered the Artist Clone. Mockingly, he pointed out that the clone missed a spot, before swiftly destroying him moments later. Sandy remained bound by the Artist Clone and sought answers from MK regarding the strange circumstances. MK confirmed his role in the events. When questioned about the total number of clones produced, MK hesitated before admitting that the Artist Clone might have been the last one. However, his realization dawns upon him that the Party Clone was left.

MK forcefully enters the Anti-Gravity Arcade, determined to find Mei and confronts the Party Clone for answers. Surprisingly, the Party Clone greets MK casually, referring to him as "OG MK", leaving MK puzzled. Eventually, the Party Clone discloses that Mei is trapped inside a colossal claw machine. MK insists that the Party Clone release Mei, but the MK Clones give chase as Mei is slowly lowered towards the incinerator. MK manages to outrun the clones and successfully rescues Mei by breaking open the claw machine. Disposing of the MK Clones effortlessly, except for the Party Clone, who desperately tries to convince Mei of his authenticity as the real MK. Recognizing his error, the Party Clone concedes defeat, and MK eliminates him as well. Mei complimented MK on his work, to which he responded with regret and self-doubt. However, Mei reassured him and playfully pulled out some of MK's hair, placing it on his head. Concerned about its visibility, MK asked Mei if it was noticeable. In a humorous response, Mei had covered herself with MK's hair, pretending to be an old man with a beard. MK found it disgusting and warned Mei not to touch it.

Later at night, in MK's house, Mei asked if MK had the evening free. MK responded, sharing that Pigsy had granted him some time off as a reward for tidying up the mess and reimbursing him for all the noodles. Mei then questioned if MK had truly learned his lesson, to which he confidently affirmed. Suddenly, MK noticed a Monkey King marathon airing on the television and promptly conjured another clone to amplify the volume. Angered, Mei launched an attack on both MKs.

Coming Home

While playing Monkey Mech with Mei, MK was on the verge of losing to her until Mei received a call from Mrs. Dragon, giving MK the opportunity to win by cheating. He soon learned that the reason Mrs. Dragon called was that she wanted Mei to housesit while she and her husband were away. MK was able to convince Mei to invite him and Sandy so they could sleepover, much to Mei's disappointment.

Noodles or Death

At the Sea-Crate HQ, Mei was engrossed in playing Monkey Mech when MK informed her and Sandy that Pigsy was unaccounted for. Mei didn't understand what "missing" meant, so MK explained that Pigsy hadn't opened Pigsy's Noodles and might have been kidnapped. MK and Sandy were in a state of panic, while Mei accessed the computer and played a recording of Pigsy. MK felt a sense of relief as he discovered that Pigsy had simply gone shopping. MK soon realized that Tang was also missing and questioned how Mei had access to the video. Mei disclosed that she had recently attached cameras to the team, a revelation that MK found somewhat unsettling. After watching the rest of the video, MK and the others reached the conclusion that Pigsy and Tang had been captured by the Spider Queen. Frightened, MK mentions his arachnophobia until Sandy says it was up to them to save Pigsy and Tang from the Spider Queen.

Upon their arrival at the Silken Web Cave, a baby spider had perched itself on top of MK, causing him to panic and mistake it for a Spider Demon. Mei and Sandy swiftly reminded MK of the importance of their rescue mission, urging him to overcome his fear. Determined to locate Pigsy and Tang, MK activated his Gold Vision. However, to his dismay, instead of finding his friends, he found an overwhelming number of spiders. The sight both terrified and disgusted him, leading him to doubt their chances of success. Using the Dragon Blade, Mei unleashed a powerful strike that created a gaping hole, revealing the path to the chamber where Pigsy and Tang were imprisoned. However, their victory was short-lived as Sandy, Mo, and Mei were ensnared by sticky webs, becoming unwilling hostages. Meanwhile, MK found himself face to face with the Spider Queen, who took pleasure in taunting him for his arachnophobia.

Determined to escape, MK sprinted away with the Spider Queen on his heels, relentlessly mocking him for his youthful appearance. Refusing to be belittled, MK defiantly declared himself a grown man, referring to himself as the Monkey Man. Suddenly, the Spider Queen ensnared MK in a web, snatching a lock of his hair. She proceeded to unveil her sinister plot of harnessing MK's power to once again conquer the Mortal Realm. The Monkie Kids arrived and distracted the Spider Queen, allowing MK to make his escape. However, MK had to get the Golden Staff. Just as MK was struggling, the Spider Queen returned. MK evaded the Spider Queen's attacks, but in the process, a massive hole was created in the ground, causing MK and the others to fall into it. Thankfully, Sandy encouraged MK and the Monkie Kids to board his speedboat, providing them with a means to escape. They raced away at full speed, reaching the safety of the ocean, much to the relief of MK and everyone else.

Calabash

MK was tasked with delivering a batch of noodles to a theater. Little did he know that the ones who had placed the order were the Gold and Silver Demons. As MK arrived, Jin inquired if his name was indeed MK. Caught off guard, MK confessed that "MK" was merely a nickname he went by. However, before he could reveal his full name, he was pulled into the Calabash. In that instant, MK lost memory of the encounter and his subsequent entrapment.

In the Calabash, MK remained in bed until he was jolted awake by the sudden shaking of the room. Instantly, a wave of panic washed over him as he anxiously considered the safety of his belongings. However, his focus shifted to the time as he glanced at the clock. MK realized that it was already 9:01 AM, and he was late for work. He frantically scoured the room for the Golden Staff, but the seconds ticked away, reminding him of his growing tardiness. Finally prepared, MK dashed down the stairs of his home and hurriedly made his way to Pigsy's Noodles, profusely apologizing for his delayed arrival. Desperate to keep his job, he pleaded with Pigsy, recalling the dire consequences of being even a minute late. To his surprise, Pigsy responded with laughter, assuring MK that his job was safe. As the room trembled once more, MK warned about the recurring tremors, but Pigsy and Tang remained oblivious, leaving MK to ponder if it was Tinnitus. Suddenly, a realization struck him, and he remembered his staff, assuming it must be safely tucked away within his ear. However, Pigsy and Tang reassured him that his staff was not hidden in his ear, but rather atop Demon Hill, where it served as a seal for the Demon Bull Family. This revelation left MK confused. Pigsy decided that MK deserved a day off, much to his delight.

Impossible Delivery

I-I can totally focus. I focus all the time. In fact, the very next thing I do, is gonna be the most focused thing ever!
―MK

After undergoing training with Monkey King, MK was informed by him about his lack of focus. MK responded with surprise, questioning what Wukong meant by needing to work on his focus and confidently claiming to be the best at it. Monkey King disagreed with MK's self-proclaimed title of "No. 1 Focus Guy" and asserted that if anyone deserved that title, it would be him. MK challenged Wukong's statement, reminding him of his impulsive nature and tendency to avoid responsibilities. Monkey King defended himself. MK brought up instances from Monkey King's past to support his argument, such as when Monkey King ate all the Peaches of Immortality he was supposed to guard and when he annoyed everyone in the Celestial Realm. Monkey King dismissed those examples as subjective opinions. MK also mentioned Monkey King's encounter with Buddha, but before he could finish his sentence, Monkey King interrupted him by shoving a Peach Chip into his mouth. Monkey King clarified that true focus involved being aware of everything but honing in on the one thing that truly mattered. Monkey King described his own ability to focus by listing various things he was simultaneously paying attention to MK. MK found Monkey King's explanation confusing and believed that it made him seem constantly distracted. Monkey King, on the other hand, suggested that MK might simply struggle with real focus. MK, determined to prove himself, confidently declared that his next action would be the epitome of focus.

Upon returning to Pigsy's Noodles, MK discovered that he had failed to deliver two hundred orders of noodles. Pigsy pointed out that MK's main weakness was his tendency to get easily distracted and not complete tasks. While Pigsy was explaining this, MK was absorbed in his phone, which frustrated Pigsy and led to MK being fired. MK pleaded for another chance and promised to improve. Reluctantly, Pigsy agreed to give him one more opportunity, but warned that any mistake in his delivery would result in his replacement by the Deliverybot 9000. Determined to prove himself, MK vowed to stay focused. However, as he was about to leave the shop, MK forgot to take one of the noodle deliveries and quickly grabbed a bag of noodles.

Fork in the road

During the delivery, MK tries to focus but gets distracted over and over again until he subconsciously creates two paths, one that looks the same and another with vines, evil trees, and corpses. After taking the second path, MK gets squeezed by the vines, which makes him remember Monkey King's words, and breaks through the forest.

MK arrived at the shame temple to deliver the noodles. To his surprise, the customer turned out to be Monkey King. MK believed that the delivery was a test to assess his concentration skills. Monkey King pretended that he had intended to teach MK a valuable lesson. MK acknowledged that he had some difficulty focusing, but he assured Monkey King that he paid attention to everything, especially the delivery of the noodles. Despite being proud of MK's progress, Monkey King revealed that the noodles were not his order, leaving MK shocked.

Skeleton Key

The Mayor awarded MK with the Skeleton Key as a token of appreciation for saving Megapolis. Upon receiving the key, MK inquired about its functionality. The Mayor explained that the Skeleton Key had the power to unlock any door or lock. Furthermore, the Mayor granted MK the freedom to do whatever he pleased for the entire day. After the Mayor left, MK was astounded by the potential of the key.

Macaque

MK vented his frustration about spending his day hammering walls instead of receiving the combat training he had anticipated from Monkey King. He questioned the purpose of the task, as he believed that as a hero, he should be focusing on honing his fighting skills.MK reiterated his desire to learn the fighting techniques necessary to become a true hero. Monkey King showcased his own fighting prowess by skillfully throwing his staff and creating a hole in the mural. MK was amazed, realizing that this kind of action was what he wanted to be a part of. Monkey King advised MK that learning fighting skills required practice and couldn't be rushed. MK argued that hammering walls was not a form of practice for combat, but Monkey King assured him that he would only teach him what was necessary. Just as they were discussing, MK's phone suddenly rang, and it turned out to be a call from Mei, who urgently needed his help to battle the Smoke Monster. MK decided to leave his training behind and return to the city.

When MK returned to the city, he attempted to defeat the Smoke Monster all by himself, but failed. MK and Mei then see "Monkey King" battling the Smoke Monster and defeating it. When MK realized that "Monkey King" was actually Macaque, he asked him if he can train him, and Macaque accepted. Unbeknownst to MK, Macaque only agreed to he can lead him into a path to darkness.

After MK began to train with Macaque for some time, Macaque took him to where the Smoke Monster resided, claiming that he's now strong enough to defeat it. Although MK thought he couldn't do it at first, he decided to fight the Smoke Monster again after being convinced by Macaque. When he did, the Smoke Monster stole MK's powers and gave them to Macaque, revealing that it was working for him.

After Macaque immobilized the Monkey King, he then used the Smoke Monster as an avatar to finish off MK, but had his punch blocked by Monkey King. After remembering what Monkey King said about "stepping into the strike", MK used his remaining strength to lift the Golden Staff and use it to defeat Macaque and destroy the Smoke Monster.

After Macaque was defeated, MK apologized and he began to be trained by Monkey King again.

The End is Here!

MK & His Team

Upon completing his training with the Monkey King, MK returned to Pigsy's Noodles to meet up with his friends, only to be ambushed by the Bull Clones. Fortunately, the Monkie Kids came to his rescue by using Pigsy's Food Truck to crash into the Bull Clones, saving MK from harm. Overjoyed to see his friends, MK was admired for how they were dressed. Mei proceeded to inform MK about the intense events that unfolded during his absence. Despite this, MK mentioned how he created the Backup Clone to assist them. However, Tang sarcastically remarked on the clone's lack of usefulness, highlighting his refusal to provide any help. Tang went on to explain that after MK's departure, the Bull Clones launched an attack, while the Demon Bull King seized control of Megapolis. Filled with concern, MK anxiously asked about the whereabouts of the Demon Bull King. Sandy responded that they are uncertain, but speculated that he may be lurking around Demon Hill, as eerie noises have been emanating from that area. Determined to confront the Demon Bull King, the Monkie Kids made their way to the Flaming Foundry to put an end to his reign.

Once at the Flaming Foundry, MK enters the throne room while the others dealt with the Bull Clones. Upon entering the throne room, MK was mistaken for Monkey King by the Demon Bull King, resulting in a fierce attack from the demon. However, Princess Iron Fan came to his rescue. Princess Iron Fan revealed to MK that the Demon Bull King was under the control of a power source. Determined to confront the formidable foe alone, MK was taken aback when both Red Son and Princess Iron Fan offered their assistance. Realizing the urgency of the situation, Princess Iron Fan warned MK that he had only one opportunity to halt the power source before it became too late. Despite their combined efforts, Princess Iron Fan and Red Son were unable to defeat the Demon Bull King. In a stroke of ingenuity, MK created the MK Clones to divert the attention of the Demon Bull King, allowing him to destroy the canisters containing the power source. The act of liberation freed the Demon Bull King from the clutches of the possession. Following the departure of the Demon Bull Family, MK was left behind. MK reprimanded the Demon Bull Family for leaving once more. Just as a boulder threatened to crush MK, Mei intervened by using the Monkey Mech to rescue him.

Following the battle, the Monkie Kids celebrated their triumph with a meal of noodles. They commended MK for successfully defeating the Demon Bull King once again. Nevertheless, MK was uncertain about his victory, as he observed that the power source that controlled the Demon Bull King had altered his behavior during the battle.

Upon the arrival of MK, Huntsman and the Strong Spider were about to confront the Monkie Kids at the harbor. MK was relieved to see his friends unharmed, as he had feared they had transformed into spider zombies. Despite feeling shaken by the sensation of spiders crawling on him, MK regained his composure and prepared to face the Spider Demons. Huntsman informed the Spider Queen that they have located MK, prompting him to rush towards the boat. With the assistance of the others, they managed to pull MK up just as the Spider Demons approach. Sandy found his remote and activated it, summoning the Team Dronecopter. Sandy successfully threw everyone onto the Dronecopter, and they swiftly escaped.

MK explained to the rest that the Spider Queen had captured Monkey King, feeling guilty for not being able to help out. Mei tried to comfort MK, but MK snapped at her before apologizing, admitting that he didn't know what to do. Pigsy reminded MK that nobody truly knew what to do in such situations. Mei, Tang, and Sandy then supported MK and assured him that they would find a solution together. Suddenly, Red Son arrived on his Inferno Jet. The group immediately became suspicious of Red Son, assuming he had become one of the Spider Queen's goons. Red Son vehemently denied this accusation and revealed that the Demon Bull King had been captured by the Spider Queen as well. Red Son then intended to steal the Team Dronecopter to continue his mission. The group refused to let Red Son take their ship, leading to a heated exchange between them. Red Son revealed that he possessed a sample of the Spider Queen's venom and could create an antidote to free those under her control. However, he requires supplies from the Celestial Realm to do so. MK, in a moment of misunderstanding, mistook the Celestial Realm for space, but Red Son quickly corrected him. Mei and Pigsy were both taken aback by MK's contemplation, particularly due to the involvement of Red Son. While the others engaged in a fervent dispute, MK carefully evaluated his options. Eventually, MK justified his decision by elucidating that they lacked any other feasible alternatives.

Red Son was in the process of completing the portal when Tang curiously inquired about its workings. MK emphasized that they had no other option but to trust Red Son's expertise. As Red Son prepared to open the portal, Tang and Pigsy interrupted him, seeking assurance that mortals could journey to the Celestial Realm unscathed. Red Son informed them that mortals could indeed make the journey, albeit reluctantly admitting that it was most likely safe. MK and the rest were taken back by this information, but the team reached their destination as they arrived at the realm. Tang provided a detailed explanation of the components required for the antidote. Lao Tzu's pills were located in his lab, a Peach of Immortality could be found in the Heavenly Orchard, and the Trigram Furnace was situated in the Celestial Palace. In order to retrieve the peach and the pills, two teams were dispatched, while MK went on a solo mission to acquire the furnace from the Celestial Palace.

MK arrived at the entrance of the Celestial Palace and was immediately in awe of its grandeur. Upon getting inside, he spotted the Trigram Furnace. However, his joy quickly turned to fear as the Lion Guardians appeared behind him. MK hastily jumped inside the furnace, hoping to escape their presence. Unfortunately, his attempt was in vain as the cover began to close. MK helpless and incapable of doing anything on his own. However, his attention was suddenly drawn to a glowing figure on his right, thinking it was Monkey King coming to his rescue. To his disappointment, the glow turned out to be his own reflection. Frustrated, MK sarcastically remarked that his useless self is exactly what he needs in this situation. The reflection interjected, explaining that mirrors don't work that way. Feeling overwhelmed, MK started to question his sanity, convinced that he was losing his mind. Trying to reason with MK, the reflection reminded him of his tendency to rely on others, like Monkey King or his friends, whenever he faced trouble. But now, he was alone. The reflection then shared the fact that Monkey King had also been trapped in the Trigram Furnace before. MK acknowledged this fact but emphasized that he had willingly jumped into the furnace, unlike Monkey King who was thrown in. The reflection agreed, highlighting Monkey King's determination to endure and find a way out, eventually obtaining Gold Vision. MK dismissed the comparison, stating that he was not Monkey King. The reflection countered, reminding MK that he was the Monkie Kid, and he needed to find his own path to victory. Inspired by these words, MK took hold of the Golden Staff before deciding to use it to create a Lion Guardian mech, taking the Trigram Furnace with him. While making his escape from the palace, MK promised the Lion Guardians that he would return the Trigram Furnace as soon as he was finished with. Evading the pursuit of the Lion Guardians, MK urgently pleaded with Sandy to initiate the Dronecopter's engines. Responding to his plea, Sandy started up the engines, readying the aircraft for their escape. With the Lion Guardians closing in, MK made a leap towards the Dronecopter, successfully boarding it and ensuring the safe return of himself and the others to the Mortal Realm.

Tang asked about the next course of action. MK responded with a plan, suggesting that they should find a safe place to hide, create the antidote, and ultimately rescue everyone. Red Son questioned the sudden change in MK's demeanor. MK said that he had the ability to reflect upon oneself. Me asked where they were headed. MK declared that they should set their course towards Flower Fruit Mountain.

At Flower Fruit Mountain, MK and Mei were captivated by Red Son's speech as he concocted the antidote, which MK praised as a hero proclamation. Pigsy asked about their plan, prompting Red Son to assert that he would meticulously add the remaining ingredients in a specific sequence. However, MK revealed that he had already incorporated them. With the antidote now perfected, MK confidently declared that the time had come to confront the Spider Queen and put an end to her reign of terror. Despite Pigsy and Tang's concerns about the spider zombies and Spider Queen, MK remained resolute and reassured them that they would find a solution, just as they always had. Sandy proposed an idea to cure the afflicted citizens by using water shooters attached to the Dronecopter. With their plan in motion, they embarked on their journey to Megapolis, ready to face the Spider Queen head-on.

Upon the team's arrival, they took cover behind a cardboard cutout before finally revealing themselves. MK taunted the Spider Queen, warning her of her impending doom. Mei was impressed by MK's ability to confront his fear of spiders. However, MK was sweating, revealing his internal struggle. MK requested the team to release the antidote. Once the antidote was deployed, all the spider zombies were cured. Trembling, MK declared that Spider Queen's reign was over. But the Spider Queen claimed that nothing can stand in her way. As the Spider Queen powered up her mech, MK attempted to attack her with his staff, but she easily stopped him and forcefully pushed him back, causing him to crash into the wall. With the others held captive, the Spider Queen readied herself to eliminate MK. However, the arrival of the Demon Bull King provided an opportunity for the rest to break free. Subsequently, Monkey King arrived and liberated MK. Spider Queen proclaimed that if she cannot reign over the world, she will annihilate Megapolis. Monkey King urged MK to take action, and MK agreed. Monkey King hurled MK towards the spider mech. MK successfully obliterated the mech, but began to descend. Monkey King caught MK, and together they plummet toward the ground. The Demon Bull King came to their aid, catching them as the mech detonated. Nervously, MK thanked Demon Bull King, addressing him as "Mr. King." As they gaze at the aurora lights illuminating the sky, MK and Monkey King shared their astonishment.

As the group gathered on the rooftop, they reveled in the remaining moments of the New Year's celebration. Monkey King and MK discussed the need to be more cautious to avoid causing damage to Megapolis. MK asked Monkey King if he was alright. However, the Monkey King reassured MK that everything was under control, dismissing any concerns. As Monkey King left while in his bird form, MK bid him a Happy New Year's. The Monkie Kids couldn't resist the temptation to eat the treats that Monkey King left, and MK tried to intervene.

Dumpling Destruction

Inside Pigsy's Noodles, MK was mopping the floor while Mei captured the moment with her phone. Suddenly, Monkey King reached out to MK through astral projection, causing a mix of relief and horror for MK. Mistakenly believing that he was on the brink of death, MK was taken aback by Monkey King's calm demeanor. Monkey King, assuming that astral projection was harmless, unintentionally angered MK with his nonchalant attitude. However, before Monkey King could fully explain the problem, MK and the Monkie Kids stumbled upon a Celestial Dumpling hurtling towards Megaoplis. Recognizing the imminent danger, Monkey King urgently revealed that he needed MK to destroy the dumpling before it destroyed Earth. Perplexed, MK questioned how he could possibly accomplish such a task. With unwavering faith in MK's abilities, Monkey King hinted at a potential solution hidden within Flower Fruit Mountain that could aid in the dumpling's destruction. Considering the dumpling's destruction as the most crucial mission ever for the Monkie Kids, MK elaborated on his plan to Mei, Pigsy, and Tang. MK made it clear to Mei that he needed someone with intelligence, courage, and remarkable hair to be his wingman on this mission. Surprisingly, MK explicitly referred to Tang instead of Mei, pushing Mei aside and sharing a laugh with Tang. Pigsy initially thought it was a joke, but MK justified his decision by highlighting their expertise in Monkey King matters. Despite Mei's insistence that the mission was meant for her and MK, MK simply brushed it off and, with Tang driving the Cloud Bike, they headed towards Flower Fruit Mountain, bidding farewell to Mei. As they arrived at Flower Fruit Mountain, MK proposed to Tang that they should touch down the Cloud Bike at the pinnacle of the mountain. Unfortunately, Tang ended up crashing the Cloud Bike into the foundation of the mountain, leaving MK utterly stunned since he had clearly mentioned the summit. MK and Tang decided to continue their journey on foot. MK started to contemplate whether it would have been wiser to bring Mei along instead of Tang. However, Tang quickly dismissed this thought, advising MK not to be foolish and instead encouraging him to forge ahead towards the Shuilian Cave.

Minor Scale

To contact Monkey King, MK began practicing how to do astral projection, but ended up getting several nosebleeds as he did. Eventually, MK overcame it and contacted Monkey King, wanting to know how's he doing since it's been awhile. Because MK had already been caught up with his training, Monkey King suggested him to learn how to change his size. MK was concern on how to do that, but Monkey King tells him just to think little.

Shadow Play

MK and his friends were thrilled to attend an event that MK thought was a movie screening. However, Pigsy and Tang quickly corrected MK's assumption, informing him that it was actually a shadow play. MK was disappointed, as he had been looking forward to watching Kung Fu Monkey Cop: The Movie. MK and Mei quickly spotted the Mayor, immediately recognizing him as the same person who had previously given them the Skeleton Key. Pigsy chimed in, suggesting that MK deserved a break from his training. Mei agreed, mentioning that MK had been working hard on and they hadn't had a chance to spend time together in a while. However, MK disagreed, stating that they hang out all the time. Mei disagreed with MK's statement, pointing out that recently, MK had been preoccupied with matters concerning Monkey King. Tang interrupted the conversation, mentioning that MK had even skipped their regular checkers night to study. Finally, MK admitted that he had to be prepared for something important. Before MK could explain further, the play was about to start. Suddenly, MK informed Mei that he didn't have any snacks. Pigsy reminded MK that he had just eaten, but MK was determined to satisfy his hunger. Pigsy reluctantly gave in and told MK to go and grab some snacks. MK rushed out of the theater and in search of few snacks. While placing his order, MK noticed a mysterious figure that he believed to be Monkey King. Intrigued, he followed the figure into an alley, only to find it deserted. When he returned to the theater, he discovered that all his friends had left, assuming they had grown bored. As he watched the play, MK began to think that the characters were referencing him and Monkey King.

After watching the play, MK wonders if he is the warrior from the story and asked the puppeteer what happened to the character in the story. Suddenly, "Monkey King" appeared right next to MK and laughed at him once he mentioned that he can't face the Lady Bone Demon all by himself. Angered, MK attempts to hit Monkey King, but had his punch blocked by him. He soon figures out that the puppeteer was Macaque the whole time.

After MK realized that he accidentally revealed all of his insecurities to Macaque, the latter uses the shadow counterparts of MK's friends to fight MK. But during the fight, Macaque breaks the magic lantern and leaves, freeing Mei, Pigsy, and Tang. When MK confronted him to ask him why he broke the lantern, Macaque explained to him that he did it because wanted to see him suffer until he learned that MK was already doing to himself. MK then realized that The Hero and the Warrior actually refers to Monkey King and Macaque's past, and was warned by Macaque that he's not ready for what's going to happen next.

Monkie Kid-S2Ep8-01-03

MK participated in a beef ball eating contest, despite not being allowed to go by Pigsy. However, after MK ate five hundred beef balls, he learned that they were cursed. Since then, MK began to get hiccups that caused strong earthquakes. While Sandy was looking for the crimson jimson weed to cure him, MK began overreacting by thinking that he was going to die from the meatballs, so he gave Tang his Monkey Cop action figures so he could remember him.

Eventually, Sandy returned with the flower and used it to make a tea that cured MK from the cursed meatballs. However, after MK mentioned that he would like to try more of the cursed meatballs, Mei threw a cup at him.

Season 3

On the Run

As the team continued their journey, MK was standing on the deck of the Team Dronecopter. However, a sense of frustration began to creep over him as Tang continued to recount their predicament in his book. MK couldn't help but feel that Tang's constant storytelling was dampening his spirits. Despite this, Monkey King said that it was alright as long as the part where he fought Ne Zha to obtain the map was accurately written down. MK then mentioned how he found Monkey King's anecdote about "cracking eggs to make an omelet" quite impressive, to which Monkey King agreed. Gathering everyone around, Monkey King revealed that he had a few tricks up his sleeve, even though Lady Bone Demon had the upper hand. Suddenly, the winds shifted and the Dronecopter jolted, causing the map to be whisked away by the wind. Fortunately, MK caught the map before it disappeared into the distance. MK asked Monkey King about the elusive weapon he was searching for. Monkey King responded, revealing that he had not yet found the weapon, but explained that the map would aid them in tracking it down. The weapon in question was known as the Samadhi Fire. Intrigued, MK questioned whether the weapon possessed enough power to vanquish the Lady Bone Demon. Monkey King confidently affirmed that it did indeed possess such power. Tang proceeded to explain the nature of the Samadhi Fire. He described it as an unstoppable flame, so intense that nothing could extinguish it. Monkey King interjected, recounting how the fire had once spiraled out of control, necessitating its division into fragments that were scattered far and wide. Processing the information, MK posed a thought-provoking question to Monkey King, wondering if this meant that there were multiple scattered pieces of the Samadhi Fire. Irritated by the question, Monkey King clarified that the fire had been sealed into three rings. MK, reflecting on Monkey King's reaction, pondered his own lack of knowledge on the subject. Monkey King told them that with Lady Bone Demon possessing the Golden Staff and MK's powers, she was too powerful for them to handle. They can't stop her, and she's going to destroy the mortal realm. Out of nowhere, Sandy emerges, catching everyone off guard. Sandy asked Monkey King about what to do next after discovering and reuniting the Rings of Samadhi, as the Samadhi Fire cannot be tamed. MK assured everyone that as long as the Monkey King had faith in the plan, they could succeed.

Suddenly, MK and the rest were under attack by an unfamiliar assailant, who was believed to be Lady Bone Demon. MK attempted to tap into his powers, only to realize that they had been stripped away by Lady Bone Demon. However, MK refused to let his determination waver. To his astonishment, it turned out that the one attacking them was none other than Macaque. Macaque greeted MK, asking if he had missed him. MK vehemently denied any such sentiment, urging Mei and Tang to pilot the Team Dronecopter to outrun Macaque. MK desperately reached out to Monkey King for assistance. However, to his dismay, the Monkey King explained that he was unable to help as he had already used his powers in obtaining the map. Macaque launched yet another attack with his jet flyer, but MK managed to narrowly evade it. Macaque managed to overpower Monkey King. MK attempted to defend Monkey King by attacking Macaque with a pipe. However, his efforts were futile as Macaque swiftly captured MK, gripping him tightly by the throat. As MK was taunted for being used up, he caught sight of one of the propellers from the Team Dronecopter, getting an idea. Mei suddenly arrived, unleashing a powerful blast that forced Macaque to dodge and release his grip on MK and Monkey King. As Macaque mocked Mei for her powers, MK interjected with a clever and quirky remark about breaking a few engines to make an omelet, leaving Macaque confused. MK hurled the piece of metal from before at one of the propellers, causing a massive explosion that not only tips over the Dronecopter but also sends Macaque hurtling towards the ground.

As the Team Dronecopter toppled, MK clung to Mei's leg, while Mei used the Dragon Blade to halt their descent. Monkey King confronted MK, inquiring about his actions. MK stumbled through his explanation, explaining that he wanted to imitate the unpredictable and impulsive nature of the Monkey King in order to outsmart the adversary and make sacrifices. Monkey King acknowledged MK's intentions but clarified that Ne Zha was not truly a villain. Nevertheless, he reminded MK of the significant injury he had sustained during their encounter. As the conversation progressed, all the propellers suddenly ignited, causing the Team Dronecopter to plummet towards the East Sea.

The Winning Side

The Monkie Kids decided to take a break, allowing MK to focus on recovering his powers. Despite his best efforts, MK's attempts to regain his powers only resulted in him accidentally farting, leaving him feel disheartened and questioning his own usefulness, especially when compared to the impressive abilities of Monkey King. MK expressed his doubts about being able to face the Lady Bone Demon and his ability to effectively fight her. Mei reassured him by explaining that was precisely why they were in search of the Rings of Samadhi. However, their conversation was cut short as Tang called them to leave, interrupting their discussion. MK was about to head left when Mei, who was already in the van, interrupted him. MK joined Mei and Sandy in the van.

As the group drove in their van, MK noticed that they were going in the wrong direction. Sensing that something was amiss, he quickly made his way to the driver's seat only to find that no one was in control of the vehicle. Panic began to set in as the group became increasingly worried, wondering where the others were. The lights in the van started to flicker. Suddenly, Sandy and Mei disappeared, leaving MK alone in the van. As he tried to process the situation, he was startled by the sudden appearance of Macaque, who emerged from his shadow. Macaque taunted him, implying that they were the only ones left. MK was taken aback as Macaque effortlessly passed through him. In an attempt to retaliate, MK punched Macaque's shadow, but it was futile, and he ended up hurting his hand instead. Macaque took advantage of MK's vulnerability and restrained him to one of the seats. Confused and frightened, MK questioned Macaque's intentions, but all he received in return was the information that he was being turned over to Lady Bone Demon.

Macaque challenged MK to fight back, threatning to harm Sandy and Mei. However, MK activated his Gold Vision, while he broke free from Macaque's grasp. MK questioned Macaque's allegiance to Lady Bone Demon, pointing out that she intended to destroy the world. Macaque admitted that he had experienced death and wanted to avoid it, which was why he had chosen to side with Lady Bone Demon. Despite MK's attempts to convince Macaque to join their plan to stop Lady Bone Demon, Macaque refused. He was determined to deliver MK and Monkey King to Lady Bone Demon to repay his debt. However, Mei intervened by unleashing her Dracokinesis, causing the copy of the T.E.A. to explode. As a result, they ended up in the desert. MK was admired to Mei's powers. However, Macaque summoned the Smoke Monster and fused the T.E.A. with it to create a mech, attempting to attack the Monkie Kids. Despite this, Sandy managed to hold back Macaque's punch, preventing him from harming anyone. Macaque retaliated by grabbing Mei and Sandy, putting them in immediate danger. MK offered himself as a sacrifice, urging Macaque to release Mei and Sandy. Macaque, however, mocked MK, belittling him and claiming that he was insignificant. Undeterred, MK confidently asserted his title as the Monkie Kid, refusing to let his lost powers define him. With determination, MK transformed into a bird and skillfully evaded Macaque's attacks, ultimately striking him in the mech's eye. Taking advantage of the distraction, MK swiftly rescued Sandy and Mei by flying them to safety.

Cooking with Chang'e

As the Monkie Kids sat around a campfire, MK became fixated on the Map to the Rings of Samadhi. He pointed out that none of the landmarks depicted on the map were recognizable, except for the green ring's location, which somewhat resembled the Demon Bull King's fortress, and the mountain range that resembled Lantern City. However, he was puzzled by the landmark shown in the upper right corner. Pigsy shushed MK, causing annoyance. However, MK noticed that Cooking with Chang'e was on and spotted something above Chang'e. MK observed the object and came to the realization that it was the blue Ring of Samadhi, situated high above in the skies. MK thought that meant they were heading towards the Celestial Realm, which irritated the Monkie Kids. MK was thrilled about the moon trip, but Mei raised a concern about the transportation. Monkey King proposed that MK utilize his powers to construct a rocket from the T.E.A, but MK reminded him of his powerlessness. Monkey King urged MK to tap into his powers and avoid overthinking. However, when MK attempted to transform the T.E.A. into a rocket, it shrunk instead. Monkey King intervened and transformed the T.E.A. into the Galactic Explorer. MK was impressed with the result but is surprised to find a shrunken Sandy. Mei and Tang accepted their disappointment and acknowledged that they would not participate in the mission, while MK, Pigsy, and Monkey King embarked on the mission. Nevertheless, MK displayed resolve and comforted the two, assuring them that they would still enjoy themselves.

Benched

MK dedicated time sketching himself and the others. Tang asked if MK had included sketches of him. MK revealed his attempt to capture Tang's essence in drawings, albeit unsatisfactorily, resulting in the abandonment of all sketches depicting Tang. MK believed Tang empathized with his struggle. Amidst their conversation, Sandy's announcement marked their arrival at Lantern City, leading them to board the sky train for their entrance. Upon reaching Lantern City, MK approached the Store Owner, seeking clarity about the Ring of Light Festival. The Store Owner narrated the story of Monkey King embedding the Ring of Light into the Earth, sparking the transformation of a desolate village into Lantern City upon its discovery by villagers. Returning focus to his merchandise, the Store Owner enticed MK to make a collective purchase for the group.

As the team pondered the whereabouts of the ring, Monkey King claimed that the ring resided within the giant lantern that stood in the heart of the city. Handing Sandy a vibrant flier, Monkey King's actions raised doubts in MK, who jestingly questioned the Great Sage's proficiency in reading, eliciting a joke regarding stage fright. MK and the rest learned that they can compete in a talent show to win the orange Ring of Samadhi. Undeterred by MK's initial skepticism regarding their talents, Sandy supported Pigsy's musical prowess, likening his vocal prowess to that of a celestial ensemble. Acknowledging the revelation, MK swiftly designated roles within the team, delegating Pigsy as the vocalist, himself as the drummer, Sandy as the guitarist, and Mei playing the guzheng. Just as MK began considering Monkey King's contribution, the latter confided his apprehensions about public performance to MK. Moved by Monkey King's vulnerability, MK suggested that Monkey King would play the gong. Tang asked about his position, and MK disclosed that Tang would serve as the band manager, emphasizing the importance of having one to win the competition, while also mentioning that Tang would be benched.

During the talent show, MK made the decision to name their band the Monkie Kids without consulting the others beforehand. The reveal left Pigsy surprised as he had been anticipating a group discussion about possible band names. Despite the sudden announcement causing a brief moment of confusion, MK and the rest of the team proceeded with their performance. As they were done, they earned a round of applause from the crowd. Basking in the glow of their performance, MK proclaimed their victory in the talent show with certainty. Just when the group thought their triumph couldn't get any sweeter, Tang stumbled into Pigsy's waiting arms, holding the orange Ring of Samadhi. As the Monkie Kids celebrated Tang's acquisition, he warned them about Macaque's pursuit of the powerful rings. Realizing the urgency, the team hastily boarded the sky train, determined to make a swift escape from Lantern City before Macaque could catch up.

The Samadhi Fire

Macaque continued to overpower MK until Tang initiated the ritual, which led to Mei succumbing to the intense Samadhi Fire. Witnessing Mei engulfed in flames, MK rushed to extinguish it, but Monkey King intervened, preventing him from doing so. Ne Zha then clarified that the Samadhi Fire was impossible to extinguish. MK demanded an explanation regarding Mei's condition. Monkey King revealed that while assisting in sealing the Samadhi Fire during the ritual, he had made a mistake, resulting in a fragment of the flame being sealed within Ao Lie. This revelation made MK realize that the fourth Ring of Samadhi represented Mei harnessing a portion of the Samadhi Fire. As Mei's anger intensified towards Monkey King, MK attempted to calm her down, but his efforts proved futile. Monkey King admitted that his plan to extract the Samadhi Fire from Mei and utilize it to vanquish Lady Bone Demon was being improvised as he went along. In response, MK criticized the plan, deeming it terrible.

Macaque was convinced that abandoning Mei was the best course of action, but MK disagreed and made it clear that he would never leave Mei behind, especially when she needed help the most. As Macaque left through a shadow portal, Ne Zha sided with him and argued that there was no hope in saving Mei. However, MK's determination propelled him towards Mei, calling out to her with urgency. He understood the turmoil she was going through, as he had experienced similar struggles. MK empathized with Mei, fully aware of the overwhelming responsibility of holding the fate of the world in one's hands without knowing how to navigate it. Nevertheless, he reminded Mei of the unwavering support she had always provided him during his own hardships. With a tight embrace, MK reassured Mei that they would face the challenges together and find a solution. As they held each other the Samadhi Fire started to fade away.

MK insisted that they needed to go after Mei, but Pigsy was quick to point out that MK was not in a suitable condition to go anywhere. However, Ne Zha chimed in, mentioning that the Samadhi Fire should have already burned Mei to ashes, but it hadn't, which raised some curiosity. The team, not fully understanding the situation, asked for clarification. Ne Zha explained that if Mei could learn to control the fire, its power could potentially be used to defeat the Lady Bone Demon. MK saw this as an opportunity and suggested that they should get Mei some training. But Monkey King decided to take matters into his own hands and face Lady Bone Demon alone. MK, frustrated by his friends leaving, emphasized that they needed to work together to win. Ne Zha pointed out the slim chances of Monkey King surviving, and MK countered by highlighting the even slimmer chances of Mei not destroying the world with the Samadhi Fire. With a unanimous decision, they set out to bring Monkey King back, while Tang, Sandy, and Pigsy offered their support in tracking down Mei.

Embrace Your Destiny

This Imperfect World

MK and Ne Zha arrived at a safe distance from the battle between Monkey King and Lady Bone Demon. MK silently agreed with Ne Zha's assessment about the Bone Demon powers. With a sense of urgency, Ne Zha proposed a plan to swiftly enter the battle, rescue Monkey King, and regroup with the others. However, MK hesitated for a moment, contemplating the possibility that their presence might hinder Monkey King rather than help him, wondering if Monkey King would be better off without their interference. Ne Zha reassured MK that Monkey King was not the loner he pretended to be. Ne Zha believed that MK held great importance to Monkey King, just as Monkey King held significance to him. With renewed determination, MK agreed to the plan. Together, they moved forward. Shortly after, MK catched sight of the Mayor. They manage to evade an imminent attack and MK quickly picked up the Mayor. He proceed to ask if that was Monkey King. Ne Zha confirmed that it was indeed and revealed that Monkey King currently has Lady Bone Demon in a defensive position. MK was surprised that Ne Zha was able to perceive the situation and Ne Zha explained that he can partially see and witnessed Monkey King's astonishing agility. MK sarcastically commented that Monkey King was restraining himself with Ne Zha and questioned whether he was winning the battle. As Monkey King was on the verge of obliterating Lady Bone Demon, MK and Ne Zha stood witness to Lady Bone Demon siphoning the Mayor's powers and utilized them to take control of Monkey King.

Time to Be Warriors

Upon hearing of Lady Bone Demon's determination to perfect the Mortal Realm, MK thought that she could be defeated like last time. The Mayor, however, revealed that Lady Bone Demon had rectified the mistake from her previous plan. Intrigued, MK asked about the error. The Mayor explained that it was Lady Bone Demon's failure to extend her compassion solely to the Mortal Realm. MK questioned the whereabouts of the Mortal Realm. In response, Red Son bluntly stated that they were currently in it. The Mayor clarified that Lady Bone Demon sought to perfect all realms, aiming to prevent celestial beings like Monkey King from thwarting her ambitions. The Mayor gloated over Lady Bone Demon's victory, but Macaque interrupted, pointing out that she didn't look great in the battle. MK scolded Macaque, telling him he wasn't allowed to join the conversation. However, Macaque tried to reason with MK, saying that Lady Bone Demon was using all her strength to keep Monkey King under her control, rendering the mech vulnerable. MK was reminded by Tang that the tales of the pilgrims had became into the Monkie Kids' narratives ever since he acquired the Golden Staff, meaning they were now responsible for working together as the Monkie Kids and bringing the pilgrims' story to its conclusion.

Sandy asked for the plan, and MK suggested destroying the Lady Bone Demon's mech before she can use the Samadhi Fire. MK planned on infiltrating the bone mech, rescue Mei, and then destroy the mech before Lady Bone Demon realized what happened. However, Red Son raised a concern about Monkey King's potential interference. MK confidently respond that that Macaque will fight Monkey King. Macaque, however, expresses his reluctance to be a hero. MK appealed to Macaque's true nature, urging him to help the team and make things right. Macaque insisted that he was not a hero, but MK implored him to be a warrior instead. MK and the rest of the group prepared themselves and used the T.E.A. to travel to Lady Bone Demon's tower. During the journey, MK was informed that he could use the Golden Staff to destroy the bone mech. MK was confused, stating that the staff had been destroyed. Macaque clarified that the staff was still intact and being kept at the top of the mech. Sandy suggested that they could destroy the mech by using the Monkey Mech. Pigsy chimed in, pointing out that their adventure had begun with the staff, so it made sense to use it to bring it to a close. Relieved by their words, MK admitted that he had felt incomplete without the staff. After a while, MK transformed into an eagle and went with Macaque on top of the bone mech, where he saw the Golden Staff. MK tried to retrieve it until Monkey King and Lady Bone Demon arrived, making him anxious until he and Monkey King charged at each other.

Destiny Fulfilled

As Macaque distracted Monkey King by fighting him, MK seized the opportunity to retrieve the Golden Staff before facing Lady Bone Demon. MK admitted that he was uncertain about whether the events that have unfolded were predetermined, but he firmly believed that he discovered the staff for a greater purpose - to use it for the betterment of humanity and to protect the world. Determined, MK attempted to pull the staff from the ground, but to his dismay, he struggles to do so. However, MK refused to succumb to Lady Bone Demon's words. He challenged her belief in an unchangeable destiny, pointing out that if she truly believed in it, she wouldn't be exerting all her power to keep Monkey King under control. MK asserts that the Monkey King he knew will never stop fighting, and he himself will stand by his side in the battle against Lady Bone Demon. Just as Sun Wukong lunges at MK, he broke free from Lady Bone Demon's control and instead grabbed hold of the staff. Together, they successfully lifted the staff out of the ground, reclaiming it. Overwhelmed with relief, MK embraced Monkey King, happy for having his predecessor back by his side. However, the turn of events provided Lady Bone Demon with the opportunity to activate the bone mech. With the Samadhi Fire fueling its power, MK and the rest of the group managed to escape just in time to witness the mech reaching its full charge.

Lady Bone Demon acknowledged MK's role in their predicament, admitting that without his discovery of the staff, none of this would have been possible. She taunted him, referring to him as a mere delivery boy until the very end. MK, undeterred, approached the mech with determination. MK created the Monkey Mech, which intercepted Lady Bone Demon's attack. Frustrated by the MK's interference, Lady Bone Demon refused to be stopped by who she considered an insignificant creature. She accused MK of allowing the world to decay and suffer due to his sentimental attachment to mortal pleasures. MK argued against Lady Bone Demon's judgment, emphasizing that one cannot solely judge things based on their worst qualities. As the team tapped into their powers, they united to create a celestial mech to support MK. MK proclaimed that the perfect world is not predetermined but rather shaped by their actions and choices. With his friends by his side, he believed that as long as they remained united, their world could be perfect. MK was caught off guard when he suddenly saw Mei and Red Son making their way back to the cockpit and joining him. The powers of the others who had been freed from Lady Bone Demon's crystals combined, causing the celestial mech to undergo a remarkable growth in size. MK summoned a colossal version of the Golden Staff. With a newfound unity, the team fearlessly charged forward, fully prepared to put an end to Lady Bone Demon once and for all. However, the demon was not ready to accept defeat and swiftly erected a barrier to shield herself. Undeterred by this obstacle, the group relentlessly smashed through the barrier, ultimately leading to the annihilation of both Lady Bone Demon and the bone mech.

In a white void, MK found himself face to face with Lady Bone Demon. However, his attempt to deliver an inspiring speech was promptly disregarded by the demon. In contrast, MK questioned the very expectations that the universe held for them. Lady Bone Demon inquires if MK shares the same belief, to which MK responds that he avoids dwelling on such existential thoughts. Recognizing MK's response, Lady Bone Demon astutely pointed out the similarities between them, both fighting fervently for what they believed to be right. Nevertheless, she asserted that this relentless pursuit ultimately led to a singular outcome. MK, assuming Lady Bone Demon was referring to the concept of destiny, was taken aback when she revealed that it actually led to pain. Lady Bone Demon gradually faded away, leaving MK deep in contemplation.

MK sat by himself, savoring a bowl of noodles, while the rest of the group congregated nearby. Out of nowhere, Macaque appeared behind MK and inquired if he had finished his noodles. Before MK could answer, Monkey King interjected, asserting that MK had saved the noodles for him as his mentor. This led a heated argument between Macaque and Monkey King. MK, observing their dispute, couldn't help but notice the striking similarities between the two. However, both Macaque and Monkey King vehemently denied any resemblance. Eventually, Macaque bid farewell to MK and vanished through a portal. Monkey King acknowledged that he never expected to live so long or become a mentor. However, he admitted that he wasn't very good at it and apologized for everything. MK said that it was okay and joked about getting another bowl of noodles. Monkey King clarified that he was sorry for being a bad mentor and making MK clean up after his mistakes. MK understood and admitted that sometimes he pretended to be ignorant to lighten the mood. Monkey King empathized with him, saying that he did the same thing.

Following some time, MK initiated the delivery of noodles. As MK was about to depart, he took a dumpling from Tang. Just as he was preparing to set off in the tuk-tuk, he was pleasantly surprised to see Mei joining him. Working together, they embarked on a series of deliveries to Sandy, Macaque, and the Demon Bull Family. Once the noodles were delivered to Monkey King at Flower Fruit Mountain, MK and Monkey King shared the meal together, enjoying each other's company.

Season 4

Familiar Tales

Monkie Kid-S4Ep1-01-39

During the working hours at Pigsy's Noodles, MK had the responsibility of delivering noodles to the customers. However, chaos ensued when the Gold and Silver Demons attacked Megapolis, having stolen Ne Zha's belongings. MK managed to rescue three elderly women from two giant serpents, which then transformed into the Golden Serpent Shears. Determined to confront the demons, MK hopped into his tuk-tuk and set off. Soon, he was joined by Mei, who piloted the Dragon Jet and teased MK for his choice of vehicle. Despite his efforts to prove her wrong, the tuk-tuk unfortunately broke down, much to MK's frustration. The Gold and Silver Demons threw the Golden Brick at the Dragon Jet, causing it to explode. MK quickly transformed his tuk-tuk into the Combi Mech to save Mei. He then converted the damaged Dragon Jet into a jetpack and flew towards the demons. MK grabbed onto the blades of the Golden Serpent Shears and split them in half. He then used the shears to demolish the building where the Gold and Silver Demons were stationed.

After the demons were defeated, MK began bluffing to kill the Gold and Silver Demons until the Demon Accountant arrived, saying that Jin and Yin promise not to cause any more trouble. When the demons left, MK explained to Mei that he had no intention of actually harming the demons and that he only wanted to look cool. Reflecting on the team's recent experiences, MK suggested that the hero's journey might be taking a darker turn. Mei suggested adding the Golden Serpent Shears to their collection of potential threats. MK, recounting his encounter with Lady Bone Demon, expressed his exhaustion with world-ending threats. MK confidently threw the stack of items onto his tuk-tuk, assuring Mei that Monkey King would know how to handle them. Mei expressed concern about him going alone, but MK dismisses it, stating that he was always capable. With unwavering confidence, he zoomed off towards Flower Fruit Mountain, leaving Mei behind.

Monkie Kid-S4Ep1-07-06 (1)

At Flower Fruit Mountain, MK and Monkey King were unpacking Ne Zha's belongings. MK acknowledged the haul and mentioned that he has also saved people. MK was praised by Monkey King for his quick mastery of his powers and reminisced about his own youth. MK jokingly pointed out Monkey King's regrettable life choices, but Monkey King admitted that MK may have already done more for the world than he ever had. MK, however, blamed himself for always getting the world into trouble. MK listed the instances where he caused trouble, but Monkey King advises him to let go of the past. MK expressesd surprise at Monkey King's admission, as he's cute and cheeky. Monkey King agreed and reassured him that mistakes happen and as long as he left the world in a better state, all was well. As Monkey King said this, MK couldn't help but recall the cautionary words of Lady Bone Demon, who had warned him about the consequences of his choices. MK expressed his contentment with the world as it was and hoped it could remain that way forever.

Monkie Kid-S4Ep1-10-14 (2)

Soon, MK and Monkey King began organizing the Treasure Room. MK and the monkeys stumbled upon a scroll, which Monkey King warned him not to touch. However, MK unrolled the scroll, causing ink to spill out and transform into Ink Demons, who transformed into Ink Demon Bull King. MK mistook the demon for the real Demon Bull King, but his confusion was dispelled when the Ink Demons transformed into Ink Princess Iron Fan. Amidst the chaos, Ink Ne Zha attacked MK and Monkey King, causing the monkeys to sink into the ink. Despite MK's efforts to save them, he failed. The Ink Demons then transformed into Ink Peng, but Monkey King thwarted their attack and urged MK to seal the scroll at all costs, as he was imprisoned inside. MK fled from the pursuing Ink Demons, maintaining a positive outlook as he emerged from the cave. He saw the Ink Demons' inability to breach the barrier, which prevented their pursuit.

New Adventures

We'll just go in after them, find our boys in a bunch of cheeky little adventures, beat the curse and bing-bam-boom, we're done.
―MK
Monkie Kid-S4Ep2-04-01

MK gathered the Monkie Kids at Flower Fruit Mountain to devise a strategy for rescuing Monkey King from the cursed scroll, using Tang's powers. The team engaged in a discussion, analyzing the information shared by MK. Tang raised doubts about MK's encounter with the Demon Bull King, Princess Iron Fan, Spider Queen, and Ne Zha. MK clarified that he was attacked by the ink versions of them, not the real ones. Pigsy expressed concern about the plan's success, but MK reassured them, considering it just another exciting adventure. Mei noticed MK's peculiar behavior, but he dismissed it and searched the Treasure Room for Ink Demons, relieved to find none. MK remained optimistic, envisioning a future where they would laugh about their current predicament. Sandy informed the team that he has found the scroll, which unraveled, unleashing Ink Demons. Tang attempted to use his powers, but failed. The Ink Demons, who transform into the Great Companions, launched an attack, causing MK to swiftly jump away, taking Mei with him.

Monkie Kid-S4Ep2-05-04

As MK looked up, he witnessed Pigsy, Tang, Sandy, and Mo being sucked into the scroll. The Ink Demons were on the verge of defeating MK and Mei, but their plans were thwarted as they were annihilated. To their surprise, it was Azure Lion who had destroyed the Ink Demons. Witnessing this, MK and Mei decided to confront Azure Lion and reclaim the scroll. Azure Lion demanded that they hand over the scroll, but MK and Mei informed him that they already possessed it. They proposed a deal - if Azure Lion released their friends, they would avoid any physical confrontation. Azure Lion expressed doubt, questioning their innocence, but MK and Mei confidently affirmed their innocence. Azure Lion assured MK and Mei that he had come to offer his assistance. He went on to explain that the scroll in MK's possession was the Scroll of Memory, which had most likely been stolen from the Underworld by Monkey King. Azure Lion then revealed that Monkey King was once his sworn brother, which surprised MK.

Monkie Kid-S4Ep2-06-20

However, the revelation only served to increase MK's suspicion, as he knew that one of Monkey King's former sworn brothers was the Demon Bull King. Azure Lion acknowledged the difficulty of building a rapport with Monkey King. Mei playfully teased MK about having an uncle. MK clarified that Monkey King was not his biological father, dispelling any misconceptions. Azure Lion speculated that Monkey King may have stolen the scroll out of sentimentality in his old age, since it contained the Journey to the West. MK was amazed to learn that he was holding the story in his hand. Azure Lion explained that the Scroll of Memory had a protective curse attached to it, which had become uncontrollable due to neglect. MK suggested that they simply open the scroll again to retrieve their friends, but Azure Lion warned against it, stating that it was too late to save them and that unleashing the curse would be too dangerous.

Monkie Kid-S4Ep2-09-15

MK disagreed, insisting that he and Mei would take the risk and not abandon their friends in their time of need. Azure Lion acknowledged the importance of his friendship with Monkey King and proposed that if their bond was truly strong, there might be a way to help, but they needed to act quickly. MK and Mei were surprised by the revelation. Azure Lion reassured them, stating that he and Monkey King were like brothers after all. MK eagerly agreed to the plan, believing that they could rescue their friends by overcoming the protective curse through a series of adventures. Azure Lion offered to open the scroll temporarily to allow MK and Mei to enter, but emphasized that finding their friends would be their own responsibility. MK confidently responded, expressing his determination. Azure Lion explained that in order to escape from the Scroll of Memory, they would have to break the protective curse, which would require the collective strength of the team. Azure Lion then requested MK to hand over the scroll, emphasizing the importance of trust among them. MK looked at Mei, who silently agreed, and passed the scroll to Azure Lion. MK expressed gratitude towards Azure Lion for his support, calling him "Uncy Lion". Using the Scroll of Memory, Azure Lion captured MK and Mei, transporting them to Chang'an.

The Great Tang Man

MK tried to purchase a keepsake from a store, utilizing the contents of his pocket as payment. Nevertheless, the Store Owner alleged that MK was utilizing malevolent adornments, which led Mei to step in and prevent the guards from apprehending him. Subsequently, MK and Mei rendezvoused with Azure Lion in a secluded alleyway through the means of astral projection. MK and Mei were warned by Azure Lion about the protective curse, which could find them if they were to made any inaccuracies to the memories. To counteract this, MK was bestowed with a set of garments as a safeguard. Nevertheless, before Azure Lion could elaborate on the arduous task of locating the others, MK impulsively began removing his attire, much to the annoyance of the demon. Shortly after, MK was questioned by the Azure Lion about the extent of Tang's powers, which he had previously claimed were as powerful as the Great Monk's. In response, MK hesitated and replied with uncertainty. As a result, the Azure Lion provided MK with a set of instructions specifically tailored for Tang, enabling them to locate their friends with greater ease.

MK and Mei set off on their mission to locate their friends, with MK outlining the plan to find them, break the curse, and return to their usual weekly adventures. Mei asked MK if he had any knowledge about their current position in the Journey to the West, to which MK admitted that he usually only focused on the parts involving Monkey King. However, he reassured Mei that everything would work out in the end. As they contemplated their next steps, their attention was suddenly captured by two guards engaged in a discussion about Tang Sanzang. Realizing that they must be referring to Tang, MK and Mei wasted no time and swiftly made their way towards a forest.

Eventually, they caught sight of Tang Sanzang with by two demons. MK couldn't resist commenting on Tang Sanzang's khakkhara, referring to it as a golden stick. However, his remark was met with a warning from the demons, who made it clear that they wanted MK to stay out of their affairs. Unfazed by their threats, MK expressed his disgust at the demons' plan to devour Tang Sanzang. Tang Sanzang's refusal to engage in combat and his acceptance of fate, even if it meant death, prompted MK and Mei launched an assault on the demons, forcing them to retreat in fear. MK questioned why Tang Sanzang did not fight the demons himself, suggesting that even Tang could have defeated them. In response, Tang Sanzang thanked them for their assistance but wished they had resolved the situation peacefully. The response puzzled MK, who commented on Tang Sanzang's unconventional way of saying thank you. Despite MK's attempts to reason with Tang and remind him of their friendship, both MK and Mei were taken aback by Tang Sanzang's rejection of their friendship. MK, using his Gold Vision, discovered that Tang was trapped inside the body of the Great Monk. In an effort to take action, MK suggested grabbing Tang Sanzang, but before they could do anything, they were attacked by Liu Boqin, who initially accused them of being demons. Liu Boqin invited Tang Sanzang to stay the night, but MK interrupted. MK explained to Mei that by allowing the story to progress and assisting Tang Sanzang in completing his mission, they would ultimately help Tang return. MK assured Liu Boqin and Tang Sanzang that their presence would remain unnoticed, prompting Mei to swiftly claim the larger bed in Liu Boqin's home and hurry away. MK playfully conceded to Mei, acknowledging her triumph in securing the bed.

As MK, Mei, and Tang Sanzang accompanied Liu Boqin to his home, they were met by Jing, who was visibly upset that MK and Mei were present, as Liu Boqin had only intended to invite Tang Sanzang. During dinner, MK and Mei displayed poor table manners, with MK expressing gratitude to Jing for the meat stew. Suddenly, Ghost Grandpa appeared, intending to offer Tang Sanzang something different, which startled MK and Mei. Upon learning that Liu Boqin and Jing sought Tang Sanzang's help to guide Liu Boqin's grandfather's spirit to move on, MK realized that completing Ghost Grandpa's unfinished business would awaken Tang from Tang Sanzang's body.

As the group gathered around Tang Sanzang to perform the ritual, MK grew impatient and suggested speeding up the process. However, Tang Sanzang stressed the importance of patience and following the correct order of events, cautioning everyone not to interfere and assuring them that the ritual was proceeding as planned. Suddenly, MK had a vision of Monkey King and his magic stone, causing him to accidentally kick Tang Sanzang's khakkhara away, disrupting the ritual. Realizing his mistake, MK apologized and urged Ghost Grandpa to leave, but Ghost Grandpa refused and transformed into a larger, intimidating form, leaving MK feeling frustrated. Ghost Grandpa then seized MK, Mei, Liu Boqin, and Jing, holding them hostage. MK implored Tang Sanzang to take action, despite Tang Sanzang's reluctance to harm another soul due to his vow. MK argued that protecting loved ones sometimes required breaking vows, emphasizing the importance of being there for friends in times of need as a true hero. MK's words liberated Tang from Tang Sanzang's body, yet shortly after, Tang struggled to see clearly without his glasses. Fortunately, MK handed them to him, and both MK and Mei were relieved to have Tang back. Tang urged Ghost Grandpa to let go of earthly ties and embrace a new chapter in his journey. He emphasized the value of memories with family and assured Ghost Grandpa that his story was far from over. Encouraged by Tang's words, Ghost Grandpa bid farewell to MK and the rest, and moved onto the afterlife. MK was in disbelief that the plan had succeeded, while Tang explained that if it was meant to fail, it would have. Tang's words left MK and Mei puzzled.

Following Liu Boqin and Jing saying goodbye to the Monkie Kids as they departed, the Monkie Kids proceeded with their journey. MK inquired Tang about his readiness for the upcoming challenges. Tang confirmed his preparedness, recognizing the guidance provided by Azure Lion. Unexpectedly, as the trio was whisked away to a new chapter, they were taken aback by the surprising view of a volcanic landscape.

Court of the Yellow Robed Demon

As the others were talking about their ancestors, MK drew Monkey King's stone as he expressed hope on meeting his ancestor as well. Mei told MK again about her belief of Monkey King being MK's dad. But MK explained to her that Pigsy is his dad, not Monkey King. Mainly because MK believed Monkey King would've said something about it if it were true. Because of the visions he saw ever since he got into the Scroll of Memory, MK told the others that all they have to do is go to Flower Fruit Mountain and find Monkey King and his stone. Therefore, Monkey King could explain if he's MK's dad or not. MK soon experienced another vision until the protective curse arrived. Tang tried to teleport the four out, but the protective curse took the form of Ink Yellowtusk, trying to attack MK. Mei tried to defend MK, but the curse knocked them against Tang, backfiring the teleportation.

Monkie Kid-S4Ep5-10-48

As the others were separated, MK was teleported to the Temple of the Tilted Moon and Three Stars, where he was knocked out for a while. MK soon woke up, seeing the Acolyte approaching him as she asked him if he was ready to meet Master Subodhi.

Show Me the Monster

Monkie Kid-S4Ep6-02-40 (1)

As MK accompanied the Acolyte into the Temple of the Tilted Moon and Three Stars, he asked about the whereabouts of his friends. However, he was taken aback when he heard the name Shifu Subodhi and realized that this is where Monkey King learned his abilities. Recalling his vision, MK insisted on seeing Master Subodhi immediately. Unfortunately, two students mocked him for thinking he can meet Master Subodhi on his first day, as no one had seen him in 50 years. MK asserted his determination to meet Master Subodhi. In response, one of the students challenged him, revealing that they had mastered two out of the 72 Transformations. Unfazed, MK transformed into a gorilla and defeated the students. He then shrunk himself and slipped under a door, successfully entering the inner sanctum of the temple. There, Master Subodhi recognized him and questioned whether MK truly understood what he seemed.

MK eagerly sought Master Subodhi's assistance in rescuing Monkey King and his friends, as well as defeating the protective curse. However, his enthusiasm was abruptly halted when Master Subodhi bonked him on the head. Master Subodhi made it clear that MK's mission went beyond simply finding Monkey King, hinting at a much larger and more significant purpose involving MK himself. Doubtful of Master Subodhi's statement, MK insisted that he was just an ordinary noodle delivery boy. However, Master Subodhi challenged his belief by revealing that even the most dedicated students he had trained could only hope to possess a fraction of MK's extraordinary power. This led Subodhi to question whether Monkey King was truly the greatest master in history, implying that MK possessed exceptional abilities as well. MK acknowledged Monkey King's greatness but was once again interrupted by Master Subodhi's bonk on his head. Master Subodhi firmly asserted that he himself was the greatest master in history, emphasizing that his mentorship alone was not solely responsible for the exceptional learning abilities of both Monkey King and MK. Curious about MK's background, Master Subodhi inquired about his childhood. MK explained that there wasn't much to tell, as he had been raised by Pigsy. Recalling the vision he had seen, MK requested that Master Subodhi take him to Flower Fruit Mountain to see Monkey King's stone. Master Subodhi agreed to fulfill his request and accompanied MK to the mountain. However, shortly after their arrival, MK became nauseous and ended up vomiting. MK tried to look for Monkey King, only to find the stone and a broken monkey sculpture, confusing him.

Master Subodhi made it clear that the stone was also used in MK's creation. Furthermore, he highlighted the significance of MK being the central character in his adventures and having Monkey King's powers for a specific purpose. Initially, MK mistakenly believed that Master Subodhi was implying that he was exactly like Monkey King. Nevertheless, Master Subodhi explained that was not the case, as MK was not born from the stone the same way as Monkey King, resulting in MK's identity being even more perplexing than Monkey King's. As MK became aware that something significant was about to occur to him, he remained skeptical, asserting that he was simply being himself. However, Master Subodhi disclosed to MK that he was, in some manner, a Mystic Monkey. Subodhi then disclosed that MK's journey had only just begun. The protective curse eventually caught up to MK, manifesting itself as Ink MK.

Pitiful Creatures

The curse inquired about MK's well-being, to which MK responded with a desire to return to his daily life. However, the curse reminded him that he cannot go back to his previous missions after all he had learned. MK expressed skepticism, saying that the curse is just a simple spell attempting to get into his head like the Lady Bone Demon. The protective curse inquired about the identity of MK, questioning his perception of himself. MK responded by identifying himself as a mere noodle delivery guy with Monkey King's powers. The curse then showed that it can also use Monkey King's powers by attacking MK.

In the midst of the battle between MK and the protective curse, the latter raised questions regarding MK's purpose and origin. Persistently challenging MK, the curse questioned his actions and the ramifications that ensued. MK asserted that his sole intention was to be true to himself and help others. Nevertheless, the protective curse reminded him of his actions, including freeing the Demon Bull King and empowering the Spider Queen and Lady Bone Demon. The curse warned of the chaos and destruction that MK would bring upon the world, surpassing even Monkey King's trickery. MK struggled against the curse, denying his destiny as a monster meant to destroy the world. However, the curse persisted, urging MK to confront his true identity. MK revealed his monkey form. The protective curse advised MK to accept his new form, regardless of its nature. Upon arrival, Monkey King expeditiously dismantled the protective curse, rendering it a mere smattering. He then addressed MK, acknowledging the delay and expressing relief at his apparent well-being. However, MK's body continued to flicker, which he expressed confusion about. Monkey King assuaged MK's concerns, assuring him that they would address the issue after dealing with the protective curse.

When the Monkie Kids arrived, the protective curse darkened their surroundings and split MK apart from the others, making MK deal with the curse's amalgamation form. When the Monkie Kids broke the illusion and held the protective curse in place, it warned MK that he would be perceived as a monster and lose his friends, confirming Lady Bone Demon's belief that MK was destined to inflict pain. MK abruptly interrupted the protective curse, commanding it to cease its words. In a swift motion, MK sprung to his feet, transforming into his Mystic Monkey form. MK lunged toward the protective curse, who challenged MK to prove himself wrong as it was destroyed. The memory begins to crumble, and a rift emerged, revealing Azure. MK was confused by Monkey King's sudden animosity towards Azure. Azure unleashed powerful beams of light, creating barriers that returned himself and the Monkie Kids to the real world. MK found himself in Camel Ridge alongside the Monkie Kids. As he scanned his surroundings, his friends assume defensive positions in front of Azure. Filled with concern, MK anxiously asks Azure about the whereabouts of Monkey King.

The Brotherhood

As MK asked what happened to Monkey King, he learned that Azure was using him and the others the whole time, planning to trap Monkey King inside the Scroll of Memory and use it to further achieve his goals. Suddenly, MK stood in shock as Peng and Yellowtusk broke out of the scroll and attacked his friends. MK begged Azure to stop, but he began to glitch into his monkey form. Azure cleared things up as he introduced Peng and Yellowtusk to MK and the rest. As MK was confused why Azure didn't say anything about it before, Azure took MK inside the Scroll of Memory with him to explain everything.

When he was inside the scroll, MK saw how Azure was once a Celestial Warrior that served the Jade Emperor until he saw how the Celestial Host was towards his subjects. He then saw how Azure met Monkey King and forged the Brotherhood, seeing how happy things were back then. MK asked Azure what happened after, so he showed MK the assault on the Celestial Realm, a battle that made Monkey King surrender to the Jade Emperor after he failed to overthrow him. MK then saw how the Brotherhood's home, Camel Ridge, was destroyed by Monkey King and was soon imprisoned inside the Scroll of Memory.

As he was out of the scroll, MK refused to believe that Monkey King would do that, even if he saw it. MK then discovered that Azure tricked him because only he had the power to destroy the protective curse, thus allowing Azure to free his sworn brothers. Despite Azure thanking MK, the Brotherhood explained that they can't free Monkey King until they conquer the Celestial Realm, angering MK. MK tapped into his Mystic Monkey form and tried to take the bamboo plank that had Monkey King from Azure, ultimately leading the plank to be cut in two. MK was horrified by the incident. When the Brotherhood left, MK realized that Lady Bone Demon was right about him only making things worse. Although Pigsy tried to tell MK that he knows what he's going through, MK retorts, saying to Pigsy that he at least has a family, something MK never had. To prevent any more trouble, MK retreats to Flower Fruit Mountain.

Roast of the Monkie Kids

Monkie Kid-S4Ep9-04-28

Upon retreating to Flower Fruit Mountain, MK saw a monkey and was curious about the others. He soon remembered what happened to the other monkeys and learned that only one of them managed to avoid entrapment. As time passed, MK believed that the reason Monkey King secluded himself was because he didn't want to hurt his friends. But as he said this, MK was met with Macaque, who planned on messing around with MK again. MK was infuriated by Macaque's presence and didn't want any trouble, but because of his dilemma, he gave in, saying that Macaque could do whatever he wanted. Although, Macaque, who thought it wouldn't be fun anymore, told MK to come with him.

The Jade Emperor

MK played Macaque's VR video game, as he was told that it would help him overcome his problems. However, things didn't turn out as he expected. With each choice he made, MK's in-game character became evil, reinforcing the notion that he was destined to be that way. Frustrated, MK scold Macaque and left Monkey King's house to sit on the porch. There, Macaque reminded MK that they had the power to make their own decisions rather than just following a predetermined path. With this in mind, MK made the decision to save his friends from the Brotherhood in the Celestial Realm, whilst taking the bamboo plank that trapped Monkey King without Azure's attention. With the odds stacked against them, MK had Tang create a portal to teleport them all out of harm's way. When they returned to Flower Fruit Mountain, MK was greeted with hugs from his friends. However, Ne Zha rebuked him for leaving the realm and allowing Azure to become the new Jade Emperor. MK then revealed the two planks that contained Monkey King, which they can now free him from. Suddenly, MK was warned about the Jade Emperor's death as cracks began to appear in the universe.

The Emperor's Wrath

A Lifetime of Mistakes

As Tang and Sandy were done repairing the slip using tape, MK announced that it was time to go inside the slip and find Monkey King. Mei was concern about Monkey King's survival, to which MK confidently replied that Monkey King was immortal. However, Ne Zha was unsure about the unknown dangers that could happen. Despite the risks, MK urged them to try and save Monkey King, as he would do the same thing. MK was surprised to learn that Macaque would be joining. Macaque defended his decision, citing his past experiences as the reason he was the best candidate to rescue Monkey King. Additionally, he points out that MK's understanding of the Journey to the West was limited. Although offended, MK recognized Macaque's point. Tang then used his powers to transport MK and Macaque into the scroll. MK and Macaque stood in front of the entrance to Shuilian Cave, which had been nearly destroyed. They quickly realized that it was the work of Monkey King, who was searching for MK. Determined to find him, they continued their search. Suddenly, MK spotted Monkey King, but it turned out to be a memory of him. Undeterred, they pressed on. A monkey approached them, and MK recognized it as one of the monkeys that were imprisoned. As MK tried to approach it, the monkey ran off to Macaque. MK observed the monkey's behavior and realized it was trying to lead them to the waterfall. Macaque then asked if MK was ready to become the King of the Monkeys, confusing MK. Macaque explained that Monkey King had become king by jumping through the waterfall and advised MK to read the book.

Without warning, MK was pulled into the waterfall, being transporting into another memory, arriving at Chang'an. They stumbled upon another memory of Monkey King. They continued their journey and soon found themselves in a memory where Monkey King interacted with Master Subodhi's students. MK couldn't comprehend how someone as playful as Monkey King could have accumulated so many enemies. Just then, a sudden crack appeared behind them, transporting MK, Macaque, and the monkeys to the beach of Flower Fruit Mountain. MK and Macaque observed as Monkey King approached memory Macaque, calling him "Bud". MK was taken aback by the use of the term "Bud" for Macaque. While watching Monkey King and memory Macaque interact, MK couldn't help but wonder why Monkey King didn't settle for his already impressive strength, to which Macaque explained that Monkey King constantly sought to become even stronger and more immortal due to his fear of death. MK and Macaque ventured to Five Phases Mountain, where they were confronted with the sight of Monkey King's captivity. They witnessed a heated exchange between Monkey King and memory Macaque. MK asked Macaque if Monkey King was really a bad guy. Macaque affirmed his belief in Monkey King's malevolence at first. However, everything changed when Monkey King encountered Tang Sanzang. MK assumed that Monkey King was on the path of making wise decisions. Yet, Macaque cautioned MK that every choice carries consequences for someone. Desperate for answers, MK persisted, asking about the origins of Monkey King and Macaque's enmity. Macaque, evading the question, retreated into another memory, leaving MK frustrated and determined to uncover the truth.

Upon arriving at the memory of Camel Ridge, Macaque revealed the heavy price it had paid - the loss of its once vibrant energy around the place. MK, perplexed by the revelation, questioned Azure's intentions of wanting to become a hero. Macaque's response was thought-provoking, saying that everyone perceives themselves as the hero in their own story. Just then, another crack materialized behind them, causing both MK and Macaque to comprehend that the next one would transport them to Monkey King. MK and Macaque discovered Monkey King sitting on a cliff, memories swirling around him. Monkey King was relieved to see them and admitted that he had lost sight of his purpose while trying to protect his loved ones. MK reminded him of his immortality and the chance to make things right. He also reminded Monkey King of the lesson he had taught him, the importance of leaving things better than they were found. MK asked for Monkey King's help in stopping Azure as he summoned the Golden Staff. Monkey King agreed, taking hold of the staff, and they all were transported out of the Scroll of Memory.

The Plan Man

The Plan Man (70)

Monkey King began a class session consisting of the Monkie Kids and Ne Zha. MK was quick to respond, indicating his presence. MK and Sandy then invited Ne Zha to join them at the front, but Ne Zha declined the offer. Monkey King proceeded to stress the importance of learning in order to defeat the Brotherhood. He also pointed out the skills and weaknesses of Peng and Yellowtusk. Mei interrupted with a question about Azure, and Monkey King assigned the task of dealing with Azure to MK and himself. Ne Zha explained that Azure Lion was unbeatable as long as he had the Scroll of Memory. However, MK proposed a solution, suggesting that they retrieve the scroll from Azure. Ne Zha responded sarcastically, doubting the feasibility of such a task. Despite Ne Zha's skepticism, MK remained enthusiastic and interpreted Ne Zha's response as a sign of agreement.

The Plan Man (96)

At Flower Fruit Mountain's training grounds, MK and the Monkie Kids practiced their fighting skills against Monkey King. MK's possession of the Golden Staff enabled him to obtain his Power-up armor during the training session.

Monkie Kid-TEWPart2-06-57

During their planning session, Monkey King decided to hand over the task to MK. Initially uncertain of the responsibility, MK agreed to take on the challenge. MK acknowledged Ne Zha's observation that they cannot defeat Azure through direct confrontation. Instead, he proposes a different approach. MK suggested using the Scroll of Memory against Azure, trapping the Brotherhood inside it. MK outlined the first step of their plan, which involves breaking into the Celestial Realm using the Cloud Airship. Sandy explained that his blimp was not designed as a team vehicle, but MK reassured him, implying that he had full confidence in Sandy's abilities. MK proceeded to explain the next step of their plan, which involved Teams A and B fighting Peng and Yellowtusk while Monkey King and himself retrieve the scroll from Azure. Once they have the scroll, they would free the innocent victims, imprison the Brotherhood, and secure the scroll to prevent any further misuse. MK concluded his plan with a fake confident laugh. Mei proposed a different approach to the fight, acknowledging that their previous strategy of winging it won't suffice against the Brotherhood. So she suggested waiting for the right moment to strike, making Azure believe they're not ready for him.

Monkie Kid-TEWPart2-10-04 (1)

As the team prepared for the fight, Monkey King regretted his inability to train MK in his new monkey form. MK hesitated, explaining that he had never felt the need to use it before and suggested saving it for later. Monkey King, however, stressed the urgency of the situation, reminding MK that there might not be another opportunity. MK mentioned the new armor he and Mei had obtained would make them unstoppable due to their appearance. Monkey King cautioned MK that relying solely on the armor would not be sufficient and emphasized the importance of using all their powers to attack Azure with full force. Before MK could respond, the Brotherhood arrived.

Rip and Tear

MK and Monkey King avoid Azure Lion's attacks. Azure Lion told MK to surrender, but he refused. Azure Lion sent pieces of the Scroll of Memory toward them, and they escape on their magic clouds. As Monkey King commented on how disconcerting for the Jade Emperor to have two Mystic Monkeys outsmarting him on his first day, MK agreed but mentioned that his identity as one remains uncertain.

MK and Monkey King buried Azure under the Golden Staff while the monkeys gathered all the pieces. They flew back towards Azure Lion. MK is tired but ready for the next step. As Azure Lion became gigantic and threw off the staff, MK created the Monkey Mech, which Azure Lion easily tore apart. As the Party Clone and the Monkey King cardboard cutout were revealed to be ones in the mech, MK and Monkey King make fun of Azure Lion.

MK thwarted Azure's attack to destroy Monkey King. In response, Azure Lion questioned MK's motives for defending someone like Monkey King. As Azure voiced his disappointment, MK underwent a transformation into his Mystic Monkey form, causing a glitch in his appearance. MK soon unleashed a powerful beam of energy and assumed his Mystic Monkey form. MK struck Azure Lion with his tail and delivered a series of blows. However, Azure managed to seize MK from behind and pointed out his state, claiming that he had became into a mindless beast because of Monkey King. MK freed himself and refuted Azure's claim, accusing him of feigning friendship while exploiting him. MK cautioned Azure about the repercussions of provoking him and challenged him to demonstrate his heroism. Subsequently, MK dealt a decisive blow to Azure. As Azure's powers spiraled out of control and the realm became destabilized, MK returned to his natural state and observed Azure's efforts to regain control.

Better Than We Found It

MK watched as Azure Lion grappled with the Power of the Jade Emperor. Azure remained determined to fix the situation, blaming Monkey King for the chaos, but MK knew that Monkey King was not to blame. Monkey King arrived and MK realized that Azure had become a pawn in the destruction of the universe ever since escaping the Underworld. Azure Lion claimed he only wanted to improve the world. MK urged him to remember that he still had the power, as he was the only one capable of doing so. As Azure began repair the fabric of the universe, MK noticed that Azure's body was disintegrating. Concerned, MK called out to Azure, but Monkey King stopped him, indicating that it was Azure's decision to undertake this task. Following the demise of Azure Lion, MK and Monkey King were consumed with regret. However, their sorrow was short-lived as they witnessed the Jade Emperor's power spiraling out of control. After successfully sealing the power and the Shuilian Cave, the team gathered together. Concerned for his well-being, Monkey King approached MK and asked about his condition. MK admitted feeling slightly unwell. Soon after, the Monkie Kids approached MK, expressing their worry and repeatedly asking if he was okay. Despite their concern, MK reassured them that he was fine.

The Monkie Kids, Monkey King, and Ne Zha gathered at Flower Fruit Mountain's cliffside, while MK gazed at the setting sun. Once Ne Zha and Yellowtusk departed for the Celestial Realm, MK questioned Monkey King if he ever desired for things to remain unchanged. Monkey King dismissed the idea, deeming it dull. Mei suggested that their team for once fixed everything rather than destroy, to which MK replied that as long as they left the world in a better state than they found it, everything would be fine. MK and the Monkie Kids quickly organized a beach party with Monkey King and the Demon Bull Family. At the party, MK playfully sprayed Red Son with a water gun and engaged in a thrilling volleyball match with Mei, competing against Princess Iron Fan and Red Son. He also built a sand model of Red Son and later had time in the water. Monkey King and MK were soon basking in the sun, with MK thinking today could be his best day ever. He quickly applied sunscreen and hurried to the beach to avoid getting sunburned. However, as usual, he didn't wait long enough for the lotion to fully absorb into his skin, and ended up with a sunburn.

Season 5

Strings That Bind

MK and Monkey King were training at Flower Fruit Mountain, focusing on the task of placing the Golden Staff on top of their respective Monkey Mountain. Despite feeling tired, MK decided to persevere and continue with the lesson. They engaged in a battle on their magic clouds, with MK managing to immobilize Monkey King and coming close to securing victory. However, Monkey King surprised MK by swiftly throwing him to his mountain and placing the Golden Staff on top, leaving MK feeling a sense of unfairness as they had agreed not to hold back during their training session. Monkey King explained that he was only holding back slightly and pointed out that MK was doing the same, encouraging him to unleash his full strength in his monkey form. After contemplating Monkey King's advice, MK noticed the stone from which they both originated, prompting Monkey King to remind him of his destiny, which MK dismissed. Despite Monkey King suggesting that MK take a break, MK refused, emphasizing the importance of continuous movement as a monkey to avoid perishing, leading Monkey King to correct him by mentioning sharks. MK then surprised Monkey King by revealing that he had something special for him and left to retrieve it. After a while, MK called Monkey King in, but attempted to cover his eyes since the surprise was not yet prepared, causing Monkey King to be concern as he was the one summoned by MK. Upon the completion of the surprise, Monkey King was taken aback to find that his house had been repaired by the Monkie Kids. Inside the house, MK showed Monkey King the walls adorned with numerous photographs capturing their shared adventures and some of MK's own drawings. Just then, Pigsy received a call about a noodle delivery, and although he suggested that MK stay behind, MK insisted on accompanying him. Borrowing Tang's khakkhara, MK took himself and the Monkie Kids away to Pigsy's Noodles.

As night descended, MK worked on putting away the dishes while Pigsy took care of closing the shop. Pigsy, noticing MK's exhaustion, suggested that he should take a break and rest. However, MK insisted that he was not tired. He proclaimed that sleep was a sign of weakness, drawing a comparison between himself and Mei and Tang. Pigsy, feeling doubtful about MK's bravado, listened intently as MK was on the verge of revealing the reason behind his sleeplessness. Suddenly, MK's train of thought was disrupted by a vivid memory of being foretold that he was destined to bring chaos and suffering as the Harbinger of Chaos. Sensing MK's distress, Pigsy suggested they make noodles together while he was awake, recalling that this particular recipe was MK's favorite from his childhood and had a calming effect that often led to sleep. MK dozed off after consuming the noodles, prompting Pigsy to gently carry him back to his room. As MK drifted into slumber, he continued to be plagued by memories of his battle with Azure Lion and a vision of his magic stone being shattered. Soon, the Ten Kings took MK, Monkey King, and Macaque away to the Underworld.

Collar the King

MK, Monkey King, and Macaque were about to face punishment for crimes they were accused of committing. Initially confused, MK was inspired by the idea of becoming a lawyer after watching Monkey Cop: Courtroom Edition. However, they soon discovered that they were being held responsible for the fall of the Jade Emperor and the damage to the Pillar of Heaven, which posed a threat to the stability of the entire universe. Feeling the weight of the situation, MK suggested making a run for it, but their escape plan was quickly foiled by the First King, who called upon someone to stop them. At first, MK mistook Ne Zha for the one the First King were referring to, but soon realized it was Li Jing, who was to become the new Jade Emperor. This revelation intrigued MK, but their hopes were dashed when Li Jing accused them of worsening the situation. Despite MK's efforts to prove their innocence, Li Jing was not convinced and decided to subdue Monkey King with a circlet. Witnessing Monkey King's suffering, MK briefly transformed into his monkey form, finding comfort only when reassured by Monkey King. Eventually, the group was escorted back to the Celestial Realm in custody.

MK struggled to remove the circlet from Monkey King, finding it even tighter than before. Macaque, feeling resentful towards Monkey King, blamed him for their current predicament. Despite MK's persistent efforts, he was unable to free Monkey King from the circlet's grip. The tension was palpable until Ne Zha arrived on the scene, providing a momentary relief for MK. Ne Zha's revelation about a plot to destroy the Pillar of Heaven caught everyone's attention, especially MK's, sparking his curiosity about the pillar's significance. Monkey King, in Tang's storytelling fashion, began explaining the history of the Pillar of Heaven and how Nüwa had fixed it with the Color Stones. As Monkey King finished his explanation, MK proposed the idea of locating the Color Stones to repair the pillar. However, Macaque raised doubts about Ne Zha's lack of initiative in the search for the Color Stones, leading MK to question Li Jing's potential ulterior motives. Ne Zha defended his father, but his attention was diverted when he noticed the clones created by Monkey King outside the cell. Mistaking them for the real ones, Ne Zha attacked the clones, destroying the cell. Seizing the opportunity, the real MK, Monkey King, and Macaque managed to escape while the clones held Ne Zha back. Fleeing from the pursuing Celestial Armies, MK, Monkey King, and Macaque managed to secure the leader's sword, which they used to make their escape from the Celestial Realm.

Upon their return, MK, Monkey King, and Macaque met with the Monkie Kids. Unfortunately, Sandy's new truck was wrecked when MK and Monkey King accidentally landed on it. Pigsy was upset that MK was late for work once again, but the sudden appearance of more cracks in the sky raised alarm among the group. Monkey King took the opportunity to share the information about the Color Stones with the Monkie Kids. But MK speculated that the stones could be used for malicious purposes, manipulating them as mere pawns once again. Monkey King reassured MK about the importance of standing together as a team. He then proposed a plan to track down the Color Stones, only to be interrupted by the unexpected arrival of the Celestial Armies, catching Pigsy off guard when MK disclosed their fugitive status in the Celestial Realm. Mei commented to MK on Sandy's wrecked truck. Initially confused, MK soon realized that Mei meant to upgrade the vehicle with the Golden Staff. With a swift transformation, the truck was turned into the Team Power Truck. As Li Jing closed in on MK and Monkey King, Macaque intervened, urging MK to save the universe. Macaque teleported both MK and Monkey King to safety inside the truck, just as an explosion happened, leaving MK worried about Macaque.

The Storm Within

The Monkie Kids faced a fork in the road. Although MK recalled Monkey King's advice about forging his own path, he still felt unsure about which way to go. He expressed that finding the red Color Stone was merely a stroke of luck. MK also noted that whenever they searched for a MacGuffin, they needed a special artifact to help them, yet they often stumbled upon the MacGuffin almost immediately. Mei comforted MK, reminding him that they were learning as they progressed. Still, MK argued that this approach couldn't be their only strategy. He highlighted the difficulty of not knowing where the other Color Stones were or what actions to take once they found them, fearing they were heading toward trouble. Despite his worries, Mei, Pigsy, and Tang encouraged him, insisting they could achieve their goals, which only added to his anxiety. Sandy then chimed in, supporting MK's worries and proposing that they split into smaller groups to look for clues before coming back together. The team divided into groups, and MK found himself with Sandy and Mo. Sandy expressed his intention to train MK, which excited him.

MK thought that the training he would receive from Sandy would involve tracking the Color Stones using his sense of smell, building muscle, or crafting first aid kits from jungle materials. However, Sandy surprised him by saying that the focus would actually be on meditation. This revelation left MK feeling frustrated, even though he found the name "Mystic Monkey Meditation" intriguing. Sandy, on the other hand, was convinced that this was exactly what MK needed. MK argued that meditation wouldn’t solve their pressing issues, especially since Sandy seemed so energetic and claimed nothing could hold them back. Sandy then casually admitted that was just a facade. MK was adamant that they needed to locate the Color Stones to prevent the universe from falling apart.

As he tried to take action amidst the growing cracks in reality, Sandy cautioned him that the weight of this mission was too much for one person to bear. He pointed out that some challenges were unavoidable, no matter how hard MK tried to tackle them. MK insisted he could handle it, claiming he was just bottling up his trauma. Sandy stressed the need for self-reflection and being present in the moment, which can be done by meditating. While MK pretended to meditate, his mind was racing with thoughts about the Color Stones. During the charade, he envisioned his monkey form and panicked at the thought of losing control, leading him to believe they should abandon meditation. Sandy recognized MK's fear and urged him to muster the courage to confront it. Just as MK was about to respond, he was suddenly attacked by a snake, which he mistakenly thought was a demon. The snake slithered away, but despite Sandy's protests, MK chose to follow it, hoping to escape his internal struggles.

MK and Sandy trailed behind the snake that was making its way toward a concealed passage, which MK managed to unlock, leading them to an undisclosed spot. When they finally reached the summit of a hill, the snake turned to stone, catching MK off guard. He summoned the Golden Staff to strike the stone snake but then noticed the blue Color Stone. This moment reminded him of Sandy's earlier advice about the importance of living in the present, which he found to be quite insightful. However, MK and Sandy noticed that the hill was actually the shell of the Black Tortoise, whose immense size was hard for MK to fathom. The Black Tortoise proclaimed that MK and Sandy could only claim the stone if they demonstrated their worthiness. MK thought that having the red Color Stone was enough to prove himself, but the Black Tortoise insisted that they needed to show mastery over themselves rather than just sheer determination. Although MK felt ready for the challenge, he was disheartened to discover that it involved meditation, and he whined about not being prepared to take on such a trial. The Black Tortoise warned him that if he couldn't manage the chaos within his heart, everything would be at stake. Time was running out, and the burden of pain would not fall on him, which gave MK a sense of relief.

However, the Black Tortoise ominously stated that the pain would instead be inflicted on Sandy, tightening the snake around him despite MK's protests. The Black Tortoise urged MK to find control within himself. As MK tried to meditate, memories of his past confrontations with a corrupted Monkey King, Lady Bone Demon, and Azure Lion flooded his mind, and he wished to distance himself from those experiences. During the meditation, a manifestation of his monkey form emerged, symbolizing the chaos he was tied to, and it mocked him, suggesting he relished his destructive tendencies because they made him feel powerful. Breaking free from his meditation, MK saw the snake constricting Sandy even more. He tapped into his monkey form and demanded that the Black Tortoise release him, but the Black Tortoise continued to insist that he needed to maintain control. Sandy reminded MK that everyone has parts of themselves they might not be proud of, but those parts were still integral to their identity. He encouraged him to have faith in himself and to tackle challenges gradually, highlighting the significance of accepting every facet of who he is. The Black Tortoise then insisted that the only way to rescue Sandy was to face the trial.

MK took a moment to meditate again, confronting his monkey form. He realized that the future is a bit of a mystery, but he understood that he had the ability to carve out his own journey. Even though the monkey form symbolizes his rage and fear, MK saw it as an integral part of who he is, rooted in his strong desire to protect his friends. The manifestation reacted to his presence, but MK remained resolute, asserting that he couldn't just push his fears away. He made a promise to himself to keep moving forward, embracing every moment as it came and refusing to give in to his internal battles. After successfully completing the trial, the Black Tortoise released Sandy, who appears visibly angry and uses his powers to confront the Black Tortoise, questioning MK's worthiness. The Black Tortoise responded cryptically, saying they would see, and handed MK the blue Color Stone before disappearing, wishing him luck and urging him to do what needed to be done.

Back at the truck, MK turned to Sandy, recalling that Sandy had once faced his own struggles with anger. Sandy opened up about his past issues and how he learned to managed his emotions better. MK's mind drifted to the vision of him leaping toward the Pillar of Heaven. Just then, Mei accidentally crashed her plane into the Team Power Truck, causing the wheels to come off. Mei then shared a clue with MK and Sandy about the other Color Stones she discovered: the White Tiger and Teal Dragon Festival.

The Cage

MK struggled to to uphold the Power of the Jade Emperor, while Li Jing took the initiative to gather the Monkie Kids, Monkey King, and Macaque for their departure from the Celestial Pagoda. Despite the Monkie Kids' protests, MK was left behind in the pagoda. In a desperate attempt to seal the pagoda, Li Jing and Ne Zha worked together, but MK's determination allowed him to break free, seizing the Power of the Jade Emperor in the process. MK successfully transformed this power back into the yellow Color Stone. Li Jing, unable to comprehend the feat, launched an attack on MK and Monkey King, tightening the circlet around Monkey King's head. However, MK intervened. Ne Zha then stepped forward, advocating for the good intentions of both the Monkie Kids and Li Jing, emphasizing that MK represented their only hope for the universe. While MK acknowledged Li Jing's wish to make things right, he firmly stated that he was the one who could fix the situation. After some convincing, Li Jing agreed to join their cause, though he was taken aback when Monkey King admitted they lacked a solid plan for what to do after gathering all the Color Stones. MK reassured them, revealing that the guardians had provided him with guidance, and their next objective was the Temple of Nüwa. Suddenly, MK teleported everyone to the Temple of Nüwa before they could even process what was happening.

As MK was about to place the Color Stones on Nüwa's statue, Mei, Tang, and Monkey King were concerned about what he was doing. Just as the stones were positioned, the Pillar of Heaven was called forth. Pigsy, sensing MK's sorrow, became convinced that he was hiding something. Moments later, the Court of the Underworld appeared, warning that only the Harbinger of Chaos could mend the Pillar of Heaven. The Tenth King stepped forward, revealing that MK was indeed the Harbinger of Chaos, which filled MK with dread as the Tenth King reminded him of this truth. He further disclosed that the Great Cycle was reaching its conclusion at that very moment. As the court realized that the Tenth King was the traitor among their group, he unleashed his chaotic powers, annihilating the other nine kings, while MK and the others watched in horror. The Tenth King then unveiled his true identity as the Nine-Headed Demon, highlighting the irony of the Court of the Underworld branding MK as chaos when he himself had emerged from the very chaos that lay beyond.

MK was taken aback to learn that Monkey King had no knowledge of the Nine-Headed Demon, especially since all the foes faced by the Monkie Kids were essentially Monkey King's adversaries as well. The Nine-Headed Demon, downplaying the significance of his identity, ominously proclaimed that everything would soon come to an end with the conclusion of the Great Cycle. The Monkie Kids, along with Monkey King, Macaque, Ne Zha, and Li Jing, tried to fight against the Nine-Headed Demon but were overwhelmed by his chaotic abilities, with the exception of MK. In a fit of rage, MK transformed into his monkey form upon realizing that the Nine-Headed Demon was the one orchestrating the threat to the universe, having stolen the Scroll of Memory and freed Azure Lion to kill the Jade Emperor. MK denounced him as a monster for his actions. Infuriated by this label, the Nine-Headed Demon retaliated against MK but soon regained his composure. Taking advantage of a brief pause, the Nine-Headed Demon shared with MK that although he originated from the chaos beyond, his experiences in the mortal realm made him feel trapped, as others labeled him a monster simply for trying to encourage them to accept chaos, leading him to abandon his aspirations of being a hero.

MK discovered that the Nine-Headed Demon was responsible for breaking his magic stone, which led to his early arrival into the world. The demon believed that this act would allow MK to escape the fate that Nüwa had predetermined for him. The Nine-Headed Demon claimed that his intention was to grant MK the ability to forge his own path, rather than having it imposed by others. Macaque was confused by the mention of a sacrifice, and MK explained that the Pillar of Heaven was still not whole, even after gathering the Color Stones. The Nine-Headed Demon elaborated that the stone from which MK came was also created by Nüwa, serving as a reminder of the primordial chaos. Monkey King rejected the notion of this fate, arguing that there had to be another way, but the Nine-Headed Demon insisted that MK's sacrifice was the only means to restore the Pillar of Heaven, warning that without it, the universe would face destruction. Mei was concerned about MK's fate, prompting MK to remind her of their goal to leave the world in a better state than they found it. Ultimately, MK revealed that he would have to give up his life to save the universe, and he then jumped toward the Pillar of Heaven.

Sacrifice

Macaque stepped in to prevent MK from jumping into the pillar, using his powers to break free from the restraints imposed by the Nine-Headed Demon. Outside the Burning Mountain, a brief clash ensued between MK and Macaque, during which MK questioned Macaque's intentions. Macaque urged MK to reconsider his decision, stressing that he didn't always have to play the hero. However, MK remained resolute, asserting that his willingness to sacrifice himself was the only way to save the universe. At that moment, the Nine-Headed Demon appeared, dismissing Macaque's claims about MK's inability to understand the consequences of his actions, and once again overpowered Macaque. As the Nine-Headed Demon called upon the others, they began to doubt his words, suspecting he was misleading MK. Yet, the Nine-Headed Demon voiced his weariness with others being controlled and limit themselves through their own choices. Despite the worries and pleas from his friends, MK stood firm in his determination, acknowledging the challenges ahead but affirming that his path was the right one. With a sense of acceptance regarding his fate and the weight of his impending sacrifice, MK set off toward the Pillar of Heaven.

As MK journeyed forward, he encountered resistance from Monkey King. MK pleaded with him to move aside, but Monkey King refused, reminding MK that he had always stood by him, so he would not abandon him now. MK cautioned Monkey King against pushing him into a fight, while Monkey King warned him not to take matters into his own hands. The situation escalated into a fierce struggle, culminating in MK hurling the Golden Staff at Monkey King. Monkey King caught the staff and used it to conjure chains that ensnared MK. He acknowledged that a sacrifice was necessary to save the universe but insisted that he should be the one to make that sacrifice, emphasizing their common origin from the stone formed by Nüwa. MK objected, but Monkey King argued that the world needed MK alive and thanked MK before soaring away on his magic cloud. Fueled by determination to fulfill his destiny, MK managed to break free from the chains. Just as the Monkey King prepared to leap to the Pillar, MK intervened by tightening the circlet around the Monkey King, inflicting intense pain as MK ascended to the Pillar of Heaven, ultimately sacrificing his life.

In the chaos beyond, MK was taken aback to encounter Nüwa, who thanked in MK for his selfless act and the positive changes it had brought about. With the help of the Color Stones, Nüwa successfully repaired the Pillar of Heaven, crediting MK's sacrifice as the key to both the universe's salvation and the restoration of the pillar. Although MK felt a relieved knowing that his friends were safe due to his choices, he couldn't help but notice a deep sadness in Nüwa's demeanor. Concerned, MK asked whether his friends were truly out of danger. To his dismay, Nüwa explained that even with the Pillar of Heaven restored, the current Great Cycle must conclude for the world to evolve. This revelation filled MK with dread, as it implied that his friends would ultimately face death, with the Great Cycle resetting and everything as they knew it changing irrevocably.

Harbinger

Harbinger (96)

MK questioned Nüwa's resolution to bring the Great Cycle to a close, especially when it seemed like everyone was on the verge of understanding their situation. Nüwa claimed that the absence of guardians rendered it impossible for anyone to wield the Color Stones with sufficient strength to uphold the Pillar of Heaven. MK perceived this situation as indicative of a deeper significance beyond mere termination. Nüwa, albeit with reluctance, conveyed that the precarious condition of the universe left her with no alternative but to end the current cycle. MK remarked that this decision condemned everyone to death. Nüwa reassured him that the sacrifices made would ensure the restoration of all in the subsequent cycle. She underscored that her creation of the Pillar of Heaven and the Great Cycles was fundamentally aimed at protecting humanity. Reflecting on his friends, MK countered that humanity possessed inherent strength, which caused the energy of the Color Stones to swirl around him. Nüwa maintained that this was their predetermined fate and the only path available, yet MK contended that such a decision should not rest solely on their shoulders, asserting that humanity would choose to fight rather than passivity. Nüwa cautioned MK that any attempt to return would unleash chaos, culminating in the universe's annihilation, including his own. MK acknowledged the inevitability of pain in life but asserted that they were the masters of their own destiny. Using the Golden Staff, MK took possession of the Color Stones. Nüwa insisted that MK's sacrifice was an integral part of his destiny as the Harbinger of Chaos, a claim MK vehemently rejected, instead identifying himself as the Monkie Kid. Transforming into his monkey form, MK emerged from the Pillar of Heaven, striving to use the stones to repair the structure. His attempts appeared fruitful, yet the pillar soon began to fracture. As MK intensified his efforts, the energy from the purple Color Stone surged forth, resulting in an explosion that weakened him, forcing him to revert to his human form.

Harbinger (224)

Monkey King swiftly came to MK's aid, who expressed remorse for his earlier mistakes and acknowledged his faults. Monkey King comforted him, emphasizing that was no longer important. The Monkie Kids encircled MK in a supportive embrace, yet Li Jing highlighted the irreversible damage to the Pillar, suggesting that their situation was hopeless. Despite the grim outlook, MK maintained a hopeful perspective, convinced that he could rectify the situation, but hid friends began to resign themselves to the harsh reality of their fate. MK joined hands with the Monkie Kids and the Monkey King. At that moment, the weakened Nine-Headed Demon appeared, relishing the thought of witnessing the conclusion of the Great Cycle. MK reflected on the notion that there seemed to be no alternative. The Nine-Headed Demon acknowledged MK's courageous decision to resist his predetermined destiny by choosing solidarity with his friends instead of succumbing to despair. The Nine-Headed Demon underscored the significance of the word "together," gave MK an idea. He remembered his earlier belief that he had to tackle the problem single-handedly. Despite Nüwa's assertion that no one possessed the strength to control the Color Stone, MK proposed that they forge their own path. He boldly declared their collective decision to fight as one. MK then gave Color Stones to his friend: the yellow stone to Monkey King, the green to Mei, the red to Tang, the blue to Sandy, and the purple to Pigsy. By handing the Golden Staff to the Monkey King, MK made him realize that this message of unity extended beyond their immediate group to encompass all beings in the universe. The Monkie Kids and the Monkey King then shattered the Color Stones, unleashing their energy throughout nearly all entities, which ultimately rejuvenated the universe and restored the Pillar of Heaven. MK proclaimed that through this effort, they could embody the new Pillar of Heaven and stand united. Suddenly, the Nine-Headed Demon pushed MK back into the Pillar of Heaven, resulting in their abrupt relocation to a different part of the Chaos Beyond.

Harbinger (330)

Upon reuniting, the Nine-Headed Demon commended MK for uncovering an alternative solution, a concept he had long since forsaken. Together, they looked at the precipice of the chaos, where the Nine-Headed Demon confessed to his prolonged absence. In response to MK's question regarding the ramifications of the absence, the Nine-Headed Demon revealed that it signified the ascendancy of an unknown enemy. When MK pressed for the identity of the foe, the Nine-Headed Demon merely wished him well, suggesting that MK's actions had triggered repercussions, cryptically stating that MK had "opened the cage." Perplexed by this statement, MK sought clarification, but the Nine-Headed Demon thanked MK for his efforts before sending him back to his own realm.

Harbinger (355)

At Pigsy's Noodles on the rooftop, MK conveyed to Monkey King the changes of the world, which contradicted MK's desire for things to stay the same. Monkey King emphasized that, irrespective of whether the outcomes of their attempts were good or bad, it was MK's initiatives that enabled the team to uncover the developments. MK recounted the warning from the Nine-Headed Demon regarding the "opening of the cage." In reply, Monkey King referenced MK's own words about being provoked. Being grateful for MK's return, Monkey King revealed his fear of losing him, which moved MK to tears. Monkey King reassured MK, vowing that they would confront any obstacles together.

Harbinger (412)

At Flower Fruit Mountain, Monkey King amazed MK by taking him to a party hosted by the Monkie Kids, Red Son, and Macaque, where they had fun watching fireworks.
