- The day "Familiar Tales" aired in English, Grant changed her signature profile picture on Twitter to Ink Peng, signifying her role as Peng.[1][2]
- The later week, when "New Adventures" aired in English, Grant changed her profile picture to Peng.[3]
- Grant's performance as Peng was inspired by the late Chris Ayres' voice work as Frieza in Dragon Ball Z, something that was noted on Peng's casting notes.[4]
- She was also thought it was funny how she played with her voice to sound like a bird, as it followed what bird characters generally sound like in cartoons. [5]
- Grant was unaware of Peng's gender when she recorded her lines, assuming they were a male character. She, along with the rest of the Monkie Kid fandom, were made aware of Peng's pronouns when "The Emperor's Wrath" aired in English.[6]
