The Monkie Kids are a team of demon fighters.
History[]
Monkie Kid: A Hero is Born[]
After the Demon Bull Family were reunited, MK warned Mei, Pigsy, and Tang about the Demon Bull King's freedom. However, they didn't at first and thought he was being delusional until MK used the Golden Staff again.
The following day, the Monkie Kids made the decision to seek out Sandy's assistance in their journey to Flower Fruit Mountain. However, their path led them to the Flaming Mountains, where Princess Iron Fan had taken possession of the Golden Staff and MK was believed to have perished. The Monkie Kids were left in a state of despair until they resolved to protect the City from the Demon Bull Family and Bull Clones. It was during this battle that they were reunited with MK, who successfully retrieved the Golden Staff and defeated the Demon Bull King with the aid of the Monkey Mech.
After the Demon Bull Family and Bull Clones were defeated, MK's team celebrated by going out for noodles.
Season 1[]
A week later, the Monkie Kids continued to battle the Demon Bull Family and Bull Clones, as well as the Spider Queen, Gold and Silver Demons, and Macaque. However, when the Demon Bull King freed Lady Bone Demon from her tomb, he was possessed by her and wreaked havoc across the city.
Fortunately, MK was able to free the Demon Bull King from Lady Bone Demon's possession and save the city once again.
Revenge of the Spider Queen[]
When the Spider Queen corrupted the civilians with her venom at New Year's, MK and the others teamed up with Red Son to travel to the Celestial Realm to retrieve the Celestial Artifacts. With the help of Monkey King and DBK, MK and the others were able to defeat the Spider Queen and cure the citizens, but at the cost of them losing the Trigram Furnace to Lady Bone Demon.
Season 2[]
After Lady Bone Demon betrayed the Spider Queen by using her to create the bone mech, the mech was then used to attack MK while he was in the midst of training. In an effort to counter the mech, MK attempted to use his powers, but it only empowered Lady Bone Demon while rendering him powerless. Despite their failure, the Monkie Kids and the Monkey King embarked on a mission to locate the Samadhi Fire, which would enable them to vanquish Lady Bone Demon.

Embrace Your Destiny[]
Lady Bone Demon took control of Monkey King and kidnapped Mei, prompting the Monkie Kids to join forces with Macaque and Red Son in order to defeat her. Realizing that Lady Bone Demon was vulnerable as long as she controls Monkey King, the Monkie Kids devised a plan to destroy the bone mech before she can unleash the Samadhi Fire. After successfully freeing Monkey King and rescuing Mei, the Monkie Kids and their allies combined their energy to ultimately vanquish Lady Bone Demon.
Season 4[]
Following Monkey King's entrapment in the Scroll of Memory, the Monkie Kids endeavored to rescue him, but ended up being incarcerated themselves, with the exception of MK and Mei. In order to save their friends and break free from the scroll, MK and Mei solicited Azure Lion's assistance. After successfully rescuing the Monkie Kids and breaking the protective curse, they discovered that they had been deceived into freeing the rest of the Brotherhood, while Azure utilized the Scroll of Memory to imprison Monkey King within it.
With the exception of MK, the Monkie Kids underwent training under the guidance of Master Subodhi. He instilled in them the necessary skills to overcome their self-doubts and make them capable of taking down the Brotherhood. Unfortunately, when the Brotherhood launched another assault on the Celestial Realm with the intention of overthrowing the Jade Emperor, the Monkie Kids were unable to emerge victorious. They were forced to retreat to Flower Fruit Mountain, while Azure ascended to the position of the new Jade Emperor.
The Emperor's Wrath[]
Following the release of Monkey King from the Scroll of Memory, the Monkie Kids were faced with the task of defeating the Brotherhood to prevent the unintentional destruction of the universe. Recognizing their past reliance on luck, the Monkie Kids devised a strategy to lure the Brotherhood to Flower Fruit Mountain for a final battle. The teams were divided into groups of three, with Mei and Macaque facing off against Peng, Pigsy, Tang, and Sandy battling Yellowtusk, and MK and Monkey King taking on Azure.
Following the conflict, the Monkie Kids successfully saved the universe as Ne Zha contained the Power of the Jade Emperor in a seal that was not entirely secure. The Monkie Kids marked the occasion with a beach party at Flower Fruit Mountain, where they were joined by Monkey King, Macaque, and the Demon Bull Family.

Trivia[]
- When asked what was the relationship between the original characters in Journey to the West and the ones in Monkie Kid, Simon Lucas replied they wanted to find a balance to ensure they were recognizable but also original enough to reimagine them in a new way, with one example of Mei being the descendant of Ao Lie.[2]
- The team was unnamed until Season 3, in which MK came up with the band name "Monkie Kid and the Monkie Kids" during Lantern City's talent show. It has been used for the team's name since then, as seen in "Time to Be Warriors".
- Although they possessed mortality, the Monkie Kids are descended from non-mortal beings or at least possessed traits of one except for Tang. Mei is descended from dragons, Pigsy and Sandy are descended from demons, and MK can occasionally turn into a Mystic Monkey.
