Nüwa is an ancient goddess who created humanity.
History
Background
Long ago, Nüwa sculpted humanity out of clay and mud. She believed her children would not survive the primordial sea of chaos, so she built the Pillar of Heaven and forged the Great Cycles. But after its creation, a cataclysmic event left the pillar shattered. Nüwa crafted five-colored stones and reconstructed the pillar back to its original state. She entrusted four stones to the Four Symbols: the Vermillion Bird, the Black Tortoise, the White Tiger, and the Teal Dragon, the final one to be guarded by the Jade Emperor. After Monkey King's birth, Nüwa repurposed his stone to carry the Harbinger of Chaos. She was saddened by the creature's existence to sacrifice himself, but knew that this was a necessary sacrifice to keep her children safe from the Chaos Beyond.
Sacrifice
Following MK's sacrifice, he met Nüwa in the Chaos Beyond, where she had reclaimed the Color Stones. Nüwa used the Color Stones to restore the Pillar of Heaven, showing her appreciation towards MK for his sacrifice and his positive impact. MK felt a sense of relief knowing that his friends were saved due to his selfless act. However, Nüwa made it clear that even though the Pillar of Heaven would be restored, the current Great Cycle would come to an end. Nüwa explained that this would result in changes for the universe and humanity, as mankind would change throughout the upcoming Great Cycles. She emphasized that the only way for the world to progress to the next Great Cycle was through this transformation.
Harbinger
As MK was devastated by the news, Nüwa explained that there was no one powerful enough to control the Color Stones now that the guardians were gone. Nüwa reluctantly admitted that she had no other option but to bring the current Great Cycle to an end due to the precarious state of the universe. Despite this, Nüwa assured MK that all would be restored in the next Great Cycle, thanks to the sacrifices made by both her and MK. She emphasized that this was how she ensured the safety of humanity, by creating the Pillar of Heaven and establishing the Great Cycles to safeguard them for eternity. MK insisted that humanity was not weak. The energy of the stones began to swirl around MK, causing Nüwa to react with astonishment. She declared that this was their fate and the only way forward.
MK argued that the decision should not rest solely on them. He believed that humanity would always choose to fight rather than succumb to inaction. Referring to MK as a mere mortal, Nüwa cautioned him that if he returned, chaos would reign, and she would be unable to prevent the destruction of the universe, including MK himself. Acknowledging that pain was an intrinsic part of their existence, MK asserted that they were the masters of their own destiny. Nüwa maintained that MK's sacrifice was his fate, as he was the Harbinger of Chaos, but MK rejected this notion, asserting that he was the Monkie Kid.
