“Legend says there's a sacred field of trees which grows in the Heavenly Realm, protected by the gods themselves. Every few thousand years, these trees bring forth the Peaches of Immortality. Against the wishes of the Heavenly Host, the Monkey King took them all, making himself immortal.”
Tang[src]

The Peaches of Immortality are a type of peach that are kept in the Heavenly Orchard.

History[]

Past[]

A long time ago, the Peaches of Immortality came into existence and were guarded by the gods.[1] One day, Monkey King was tasked to guard the Immortal Peaches. But in order to increase his immortality, he ate all of them himself, becoming several times immortal.[2][3]

The Great Wall Race[]

Hearing that the winner of the Great Wall Race would win immortality, MK and Red Son assumed that they would be rewarded with an Immortal Peach if they won. But in the end, they learned that the peach was actually a trophy.

Revenge of the Spider Queen[]

Because the peaches only grew at the Celestial Realm, Mei and Red Son went to the Heavenly Orchard to retrieve a Peach of Immortality for one of the ingredients to create an antidote. After they escaped from the Celestial Realm, MK threw the peach into the Trigram Furnace, creating the antidote.

Appearances[]

Trivia[]

  • In mythology and Journey to the West there are three types of Peaches of Immortality, all of which ripen every three-thousand, six-thousand, or nine-thousand years.[4]
