Shadows are an ability used by Macaque.

History[]

Macaque[]

The Smoke Monster briefly transformed into a shadow to give Macaque the powers of MK before reappearing. In his fight with Monkey King, Macaque was launched into the side of a mountain, he summoned multiple Shadow Monkeys to fight Monkey King but they were evenly matched against his clones. Macaque then used a shadow monkey to catch Monkey king off guard, and then pinned him down with more shadow monkeys.

Shadow Play[]

Macaque trapped the shadows of Mei, Pigsy, and Tang within his Magic Lantern. After MK returned from the lobby, he used the lantern to tell the tale of "The Hero and the Warrior" to him. Later that day, Macaque used the lantern to draw parallels of MK to Monkey King. He then used the shadow counterparts of the aforementioned to attack MK. He however, broke the lantern, after the latter reminded him of Monkey King and released the trio from their shadows.

On the Run[]

Macaque created multiple shadow monkeys that piled on top of Monkey King.

Great Grand Dragon of the East[]

Macaque found the Monkie Kids and came for them with an army of shadow monkeys. The Monkie Kids escaped while Macaque attacked the Dragon of the East.

The Winning Side[]

Macaque transformed the inside of his copy of the van into his own personal shadow playground, dimming the lights and seperating Sandy and Mei from MK. After this, Macaque confronts and torments MK while in shadow form, tricking him into hurting himself. He restrains MK using shadow whips and further torments him.

Benched[]

Macaque used a shadow portal to enter the giant lantern housing the Orange Ring of Samadhi.

The Samadhi Fire[]

Using the shadows, Macaque tried to escape from the commotion but he was stopped by an enraged Monkey King. Macaque insisted on leaving Mei to be destroyed by the Samadhi Fire. MK tried to convince Macaque to stay, Macaque however, left the vicinity using a shadow portal.

The Corrupted King[]

MK was teleported away from the corrupted Monkey King via shadows, Macaque then later appeared in the library using his shadows.

Destiny Fulfilled[]

Macaque summoned an orb of shadow energy from his chest to funnel its power to enhance MK's mech.

Roast of the Monkie Kids[]

Macaque appeared in the shadows of Flower Fruit Mountain.

A Lifetime of Mistakes[]

Macaque overheard their conversation about Monkey King, he used his portal to appear next to MK and accompany him through his mission. He later used it to land safely in a memory. In another memory, a younger Macaque visted Monkey King through a shadow portal.

The Plan Man[]

During their planning, Macaque showed up next to Pigsy and Tang from his shadows which spooked them. When he heard the Brotherhood coming later on, he gathered all the Monkie Kids and teleported everyone through his shadow portal to join MK and Monkey King.

Rip and Tear[]

While fighting Peng, Macaque used his staff made from shadows. He also slipped away through a shadow portal and tried a sneak attack from behind. When that didn't work, he brought Mei out secretly through another shadow portal.

Strings That Bind[]

Macaque used a shadow portal to appear behind Monkey King so that they could have a conversation. After their chat escalated, and Monkey King was being called by MK, Macaque left using a portal.

Collar the King[]

During their escape out of the Celestial Realm, Macaque used his shadows to quickly maneuver around the tight alleyways. Macaque teleported behind and tripped the leader of the Celestial Armies while Monkey King slammed him to the ground. When they returned back to the mortal realm, Macaque used the ablity to safely land. But when Li Jing followed them and threatened their escape, Macaque willingly fought him and summoned several shadow monkeys, but he was imprisoned in the pagoda.

Into the Pagoda[]

Macaque used his powers to swiftly traverse towards the upper levels of the pagoda.

The Cage[]

Macaque tried a sneak attacks behind the Nine-Headed Demon, but was thwarted and bound by the demon's powers of chaos. Macaque attempted to break free of the constraints by using his shadows, which momentarily unbound him and caused the demon immense pain.

Sacrifice[]

Macaque unleashed his shadow powers, breaking free of his restraints and causing the Nine-Headed Demon to collapse in pain. He then transported himself and MK outside the Temple of Nüwa, where both of them debated on MK's potential fate. Suddenly, the Nine-Headed Demon appeared again to subdue Macaque. As MK flew to the Pillar of Heaven as a sacrifice, Macaque once again used his abilities to free himself along with the others, and a move that left the Nine-Headed Demon severed from his source of chaos.

Harbinger[]

Macaque was seen exploring the empty Underworld Temple, when suddenly his shadows became a hue similar to that of the Nine-Headed Demon's chaos.

Abilities[]

  • Shadow portals - The user can use the shadows to transport anyone practically anywhere.
  • Clones - The user can make clones made of shadows that are equal in power to them, but are destroyed easily.
  • Weapon Generation - The user can manifest weapons made from shadows to attack their enemies.
