Synopsis[]
Short DescriptionWhen their van breaks down in the desert, the heroes are stranded! Their only hope is to play the crafty Goldfish Demon's game show...[1] ExtendedThe heroes drive across a vast desert, headed for the first location on the map. When their van breaks down, the team is stranded until they find an Oasis owned by the crafty Goldfish Demon! He offers to let them try and win whatever they need in his game show. MK, desperate to prove he can be the 'smart one' now he has no powers, agrees to play. Problem is, he's not the smart one![2] |
Plot[]
As the Monkie Kids traveled through the desert, Sandy expressed concern about their direction. Tang admits that they are unsure, but Monkey King instructed them to head West. Mei remarked on the difficulty of using maps in the past. Monkey King asked Sandy for the air conditioning to be turned up, but Mei tried to get his attention to help with navigation. MK explained that Monkey King needs to recharge after his fight with Ne Zha and that he cannot waste time on mortal matters. Pigsy was surprised by Monkey King's honesty. Sandy suggests opening the window for fresh air, but he was set a flame and quickly close it again. Pigsy reminded MK that he has more to offer than just his powers. MK decides to focus on being the smart one and examines the map to locate the Rings of Samadhi. The team grew impatient, and MK identifies a potential pit stop on the map. However, the T.E.A. breaks down.
After the T.E.A. broke down, the Monkie Kids stopped at a desert and MK explained Monkey King's meditation to Mei until they all spotted an oasis. Overjoyed, MK's team rushed over there, only to find out that it was just a small puddle that belonged to the Goldfish Demon. Learning that they actually need to pay for the water, the team then changed their minds and suggested that they should instead get an engine for the van, but didn't have enough money to buy it. The Goldfish Demon noted that MK can get the engine for free if they participated in his game and win. But to participate, they have to trade in a valuable item, which the Goldfish Demon will keep if they lose.
In the first round, MK traded the Dragon Blade and believed that he was going to win. MK, however, lost, losing the Dragon Blade. After several rounds, MK lost the deed to Pigsy's Noodles, Tang's book, the Monkey King, and most of the group's valuables. After mentioning his Gold Vision, MK traded in his friends and challenged the Goldfish Demon to another round. During the round, MK temporarily regained his Golden Eyes and figured out that the Goldfish Demon was cheating the whole time.
In the end, the team received the engine for the van and continued to head West. Inside the van, MK told Mei that he was able to use his Golden Eyes again because he was determined to save his friends. Monkey King then took a break from his meditation and told MK that he found his strength when he needed it and that he'll regain his powers soon enough.
