“Oh yeah, that's cool. Why don't you tell that to the people at the back of the line?”
— The man to Red Son[src]

The unnamed man is a former citizen of Megapolis that used to worked as an assistant at the Shoe Store. Sometime after the Spider Queen's attack on Megapolis, he moved to Lantern City, where he became an owner at one of the shops.

History[]

Monkie Kid: A Hero is Born[]

The Shoe Store Assistant was in the midst of packing shoes when Red Son and the Demon Bull King entered the store, with Red Son showing interest in the new Yeelzebub shoes. However, instead of being immediately attended to, they were directed to the end of the line by the assistant. Trying to assert his father's importance as the Demon Bull King, Red Son attempted to jump the line, but the assistant firmly insisted that they wait their turn like everyone else. The assistant's demeanor changed when he caught sight of the imposing figure of the Demon Bull King, instilling fear in him. The assistant stood his ground and apologized for the inconvenience, still insisting that the line must be respected.

Revenge of the Spider Queen[]

When the man complained that Red Son's food was too spicy, he told him that he wanted to speak to his manager after Red Son said that nothing's wrong with his food. However, when Red Son revealed that the manager was the Demon Bull King, he ran away in fear.

Benched[]

While exploring Lantern City, the Monkie Kids and Monkey King came across a store where MK decided to inquire about the ongoing festival. The Store Owner simply responded that it was the Ring of Light Festival. However, MK found this explanation to be rather vague. Before MK could finish his sentence, the Store Owner took the opportunity to enlighten them about the origins of Lantern City. He explained that the city was established when some villagers discovered the orange Ring of Samadhi, which had been thrown into the Earth's crust by Monkey King. After sharing the piece of information, the Store Owner then inquired if MK and his friends had any intention of making a purchase.

  • David Breen often jokes about about the identity of the Store Owner.
    • While revealing the man's voice actor to be Patrick Seitz in Season 3, Breen compared the Store Owner to Nurse Joy from Pokémon.[1] This later became evident in the show when it was shown in Season 4 onward that there are actually more than one version of the Store Owner, mirroring the multiple versions of Nurse Joy.
