Synopsis[]
In order to find Tang, our heroes must start their Journey where Monkey King began his! In the company of the great monk Tang Sanzang.[1] |
Plot[]
After MK and Mei briefly explore the city, Azure Lion finds them in an alley and gives them directions on how to find their friends.
The duo overhears two guards talking about Tang Sanzang and realize it is related to finding Tang. They search for him in the woods and save him from becoming dinner for the Village Demons. Although they are happy to see him, the latter is not and accuses them of being too hyper and violent when saving him, even going so far to say they are absolutely not friends. Despite this, MK and Mei try to tag along with him but they are attacked by another man, who invites Tang Sanzang to lodge with him. MK and Mei accept the invitation in hopes of completing the chapter will help return their Tang back to them and race off before the host or invitee could say anything.
They arrive at Liu Boquin's house, where his wife offers them meat stew. But because Tang Sanzang is vegetarian, Ghost Grandpa appears to fix him something else. Jing begs for Tang Sanzang's forgiveness as they tricked him into staying when they really needed his help to send off Liu Boquin's grandfather. Tang Sanzang agrees to help and commences the ritual soon after. However, MK accidentally interrupts the ritual, causing Ghost Grandpa to lose control and want to kick everyone out of his home. MK eventually convinces Tang Sanzang to help and is able to remind Tang who he really is. Tang in turn reminds Ghost Grandpa that sending him off isn't because they are trying to push him away but it's so that they can help him begin the next chapter in his life. Ghost Grandpa accepts this and leaves with a parting goodbye to his family.
The next day, the heroes go off to another chapter to find their other friends.
